CTF is god. Praise his name. For the flag is his holy messiah.

My third montage!
Issues I have with Halo 4:
1. Forge is -blam!- up and a huge letdown. While some of the new features such as the magnets are great idea, they are glitched beyond belief.
2. Scope flinching. I don't feel it adds anything positive to the game especially when most engagements happen at medium to long range in btb. I don't have an issue with this, but when you get flanked or blindsided there is no sense is trying to scope in when it's impossible to keep the reticule over your opponent. In short, most engagements turn into, I see you first, I shoot first, I win. Gone are the days of being able to counter someone one shooting you from your blindside.
3. Sprint as an inherent ability. In Reach I used sprint almost exclusively. Now with sprint being an inherent ability while being paired with the mobility upgrade, I have found that my play has suffered greatly. I know I get back into the fight almost instantly and many cases, as others have pointed out, I have killed the person that killed me before their shields have recharged. This is bad and shouldn't happen. Which brings me to:
4. Instant respawning. The instant respawn is a terrible idea especially with the sprint/mobility combination. It teaches players bad habits. It's one of the reasons I can stomach CTF, there are no instant respawns and no personal ordinance. (More on that a moment) I find myself, and other players just rushing back into battle. Looking at it from both sides, as killer and the recently killed, I think this hardly fair. If you take someone out, especially if it's a hotly contested area, we shouldn't have deal with that player 2.3 seconds later because they have instantly respawned, sprinted back into battle and are now challenging their opponent again. It goes against the [at least in my opinion] one of the core fundamentals of halo gameplay, that is, a player or team is rewarded with a slight advantage after removing an opponent from the battlefield. With that said:
5. Personal Ordinance Drops. Why should I push forward a power weapon when I can now sit back and ping players from range, maybe clean up few kills from my teammates and now vola! I have got overshield! Or hey look at this! A rail gun just for me! In this regard I can see some of you say the DMR ruins btb. The real problem with personal ordinance is that ruins movement, players have less incentive to move forward, even at the risk of not gaining or keeping key points on a map!
6. Lack of symmetrical maps paired with dynamic spawns. These go hand in hand. Almost every match is like team slayer on High Ground. For the record I loved High Ground, but it was terrible for team slayer. High Ground with one sided objective games was a joy to play. In halo 4 on the smaller maps every match feels this way.
For the Record I want Halo 4 to succeed. I see it as an improvement in some areas but just like Reach, I feel like once you peel back the layers of gimmicks and stupidity there is [hopefully] a fairly decent and enjoyable game. Right now Halo 4 feels like a Beta.
All of this coming from a 30 something gamer, who is admittedly, average at halo. So I can't imagine how the play breaks down at higher levels of play. But if I can see these things? The game is far from being... truly great and polished.
