Be sure to tell everyone how cool you are. If you don't tell them, they won't know.

Stop crying, its a game. You get frustrated over a piece of entertainment? I bet you're a riot to hang with.

If you consider this "crying", you must not come to the flood much at all despite your member title or just don't pay attention when you are on.

Like anybody but absolute nerds pay attention to or care about titles.

Regardless, what you're still doing is whining about a video game, whether or not there are bigger crybabies on here than yourself. That doesn't excuse you.

Usually you are teamed up with people who don't know to work as a team and instead of playing with you, they get you killed.
I think this is the nature on online matchmaking.

That being said... I do wonder why 343 got rid of the player profile options for matchmaking. I really thought that was a great idea when Bungie released it.

Yes, but remember that you can now "Join in progress" while a game is running. When the game ends and you loose, you want to keep playing the playlist/gametype, so you leave the party of players and search again and in many cases you will get matched up with the same people, even if you wait for like 2-4 minutes.

What OP is really saying: "Guys, I'm a pissy -blam!-, and I suck at Halo."

I find all the game types extremely entertaining and I think that Halo 4 has some of the funnest multi-player I've played in a long time. Couldn't find any games I found interesting until this game came out, and now I'm really into it. I love it.

I think you are ten years old because it doesn't seem like you were old enough top play Halo 3 when it came out.
I don't understand your reply. Are you trying to discredit the post you quoted?

For the record, I agree with the post. It's a pretty accurate description of how I interpreted the OP.
There was a period where I could 't play any non TF2 games just because of LITTLE nitpicks I had with pretty much any game. Power weapons in Reach (and just Hemorrhoid in general) pissed me off until I just swallowed my dignity and started using them myself. L4D2 bugged me in VS since the zombies were so easy to kill until I just switched to campaign.

OP might be going through something similar. Halo is more enjoyable if you just stop getting angry when you die to cheap stuff. I HONESTLY think this might have something to do with me being on 40mg of Celexa and just being able to ignore little things, but whatever. Halo 4 is a nice time when I'm just not caring about dying or losing a flag/Dominion base.

It's as if everybody has this train of thought that they are morally superior to everyone else playing if they don't use power weapons or "cheap tactics" or other things along those lines.

Im not whining. I actually listed the reasons for my frustration and how I think they should be addressed. Whining is when you complain and that's it.

A competitive players main goal is to win.
A casuals main goal is to have fun regardless of whether that results in a win or loss.
It has nothing to do with individual skill or knowledge, it has to do with the reason you play.

I don't find matchmaking fun either, I have friends who like Halo, but aren't as skilled and experienced as I am, and as matchmaking only takes account the highest true skill in the party, me and my friends get matched against team that is way more skilled than ours, every game turns into annihilation where my friends get constantly slaughtered. Lack of social playlists is why I quit playing Halo 4, if I can't play with my friends, the game isn't worth my time or money.

  • 12.06.2012 12:57 PM PDT

It needs objective In the BTB playlist.. Slayer games bore me after 4 games and I like the surprise of not knowing what game type I'm going to get so they need to remove the individual objective playlists.

What do you play in Reach and Halo 2/3? Have you tried CTF? People actually go for flags since they're worth so much to cap, and there's no instant spawn or ordinance.

Dominion also has people going for objectives, even if it has too many power weapons.

In Reach I did mostly BTB. In Halo 4, I can't really stand it.

Dominion was fun at first but there really are too many power weapons I believe.

I haven't tried much CTF or Oddball, I might give those a go later.
CTF is really good on maps that aren't Complex or Ragnarock, although it still WORKS on those maps in comparison to Hemerrhoid. If you just grin and bear it, or rather, stop giving a -blam!- when you keep getting killed by a sniper on BTB, the game works better. It's a lot more pubby now, and at least there are rarely times when Slayer teams steam roll each other like in the past Halo games.

Also, just use a Boltshot. Yeah, it's stupid, but at least you have a chance in close quarters against people who use it and you won't be trading melee kills. It's actually a lot more interesting than auto lunge melee battles, surprisingly.

Well, people who post on forums are likely a lot better at video games than the vast majority of people out there. We're already going to be beating most players, so the mindset is probably that we might as well make things interesting via balance and knowing we deserved the kill.

I still go by that to an extent, at least in easy single player games, but I've also started not giving a -blam!-.

I feel like when I try not to care I usually just end up doing worse.
It's more so just not caring if you lose a fight or die. Like, I always play multiplayer games like I'm trying to win, but if I don't, it's not a big deal anymore.

Also, if you see room to just screw around and know you'll have fun doing it, just take it. If you see an afk team mate, stand on his head for a couple minutes and look around in a silly manner. If an enemy is just driving around on a mongoose in slayer for splatter commendations, which is useless, don't shoot him, try to jump on him and teabag. Just sidestep him and look at him awkwardly without firing your gun. If an enemy or team mate is obviously screwing around, join him. Stuff like that just adds to the enjoyment of the game.

Nahman Jayden, Eff bee eye. I herd that you're the origammy killah...

Play with friends, bro.
I can relate, because randoms on my team seem to always be complete -blam!-.
If you don't have anyone to play the game with, unfortunately, you're SOL.
If only they made teams vs teams and randoms against randoms only like in Halo 3. It would be wonderful.

CTF is god. Praise his name. For the flag is his holy messiah.

Posted by: Bricypoo Nobody quotes me and puts me in their signatures It makes me sad ... :(
My third montage!

Issues I have with Halo 4:

1. Forge is -blam!- up and a huge letdown. While some of the new features such as the magnets are great idea, they are glitched beyond belief.

2. Scope flinching. I don't feel it adds anything positive to the game especially when most engagements happen at medium to long range in btb. I don't have an issue with this, but when you get flanked or blindsided there is no sense is trying to scope in when it's impossible to keep the reticule over your opponent. In short, most engagements turn into, I see you first, I shoot first, I win. Gone are the days of being able to counter someone one shooting you from your blindside.

3. Sprint as an inherent ability. In Reach I used sprint almost exclusively. Now with sprint being an inherent ability while being paired with the mobility upgrade, I have found that my play has suffered greatly. I know I get back into the fight almost instantly and many cases, as others have pointed out, I have killed the person that killed me before their shields have recharged. This is bad and shouldn't happen. Which brings me to:

4. Instant respawning. The instant respawn is a terrible idea especially with the sprint/mobility combination. It teaches players bad habits. It's one of the reasons I can stomach CTF, there are no instant respawns and no personal ordinance. (More on that a moment) I find myself, and other players just rushing back into battle. Looking at it from both sides, as killer and the recently killed, I think this hardly fair. If you take someone out, especially if it's a hotly contested area, we shouldn't have deal with that player 2.3 seconds later because they have instantly respawned, sprinted back into battle and are now challenging their opponent again. It goes against the [at least in my opinion] one of the core fundamentals of halo gameplay, that is, a player or team is rewarded with a slight advantage after removing an opponent from the battlefield. With that said:

5. Personal Ordinance Drops. Why should I push forward a power weapon when I can now sit back and ping players from range, maybe clean up few kills from my teammates and now vola! I have got overshield! Or hey look at this! A rail gun just for me! In this regard I can see some of you say the DMR ruins btb. The real problem with personal ordinance is that ruins movement, players have less incentive to move forward, even at the risk of not gaining or keeping key points on a map!

6. Lack of symmetrical maps paired with dynamic spawns. These go hand in hand. Almost every match is like team slayer on High Ground. For the record I loved High Ground, but it was terrible for team slayer. High Ground with one sided objective games was a joy to play. In halo 4 on the smaller maps every match feels this way.

For the Record I want Halo 4 to succeed. I see it as an improvement in some areas but just like Reach, I feel like once you peel back the layers of gimmicks and stupidity there is [hopefully] a fairly decent and enjoyable game. Right now Halo 4 feels like a Beta.

All of this coming from a 30 something gamer, who is admittedly, average at halo. So I can't imagine how the play breaks down at higher levels of play. But if I can see these things? The game is far from being... truly great and polished.

A7x FoREVer!

I play a lot of CTF and Oddball. I've always been a big BTB fan so I play a fair amount of BTB infinity slayer, but I wish 343i would add BTB objective game modes. I'm enjoying the game.

My biggest complaints all revolve around vehicles being underpowered due to plasma pistol and plasma grenade starting loadouts. I think vehicles need more armor, and the plasma pistol stun time needs to be reduced. O, and the Promethean pistol needs to have it range reduced when charged. Its like giving someone a starting mauler.

Also, Halo 3 is completely better in multiplayer. Don't pull a 343bot on me, Halo 3 is legendary with its gameplay and you can't argue against that.
I enjoyed Halo 3 and so far I'm enjoying Halo 4. I haven't yet played enough to make a clear decision between the two, but simply saying "you can't argue against that" makes me question your grade level.

Fact: Every time there is a new Halo title released, there is a (usually large) group of people who insist to no end that all previous titles are better. Some people just seem to prefer living in the past.

Or, they just like to complain.

But there ARE quite a few problems in H4, though it is better than Reach in most aspects. However, I more easily enjoyed Halo 3's ranked MM, not only because its less frustrating, but because ranking up was fun and worthwhile, and at no point did it feel like a gigantic grind, like Halo 4/Halo Reach.

OP: Play Oddball and CTF.

I came into Xbox half way through Halo 3 so I can't say anything about the forums at the time of its release, but from what I gathered when Halo 3 first launched, all I ever heard was "OMG Halo 3 is the greatest thing to ever bless this earth with its presence." from people. I don't get that from people anymore, not from Reach, and not from Halo 4.

The fact is, you're saying the people will just complain about Halo 4 and how Reach was better. They're not, they're saying both suck and Halo 3 was better. It shows that the direction Halo is currently going in isn't exactly a good one, especially when Halo 3 was 500k strong in population even after CoD4, Gears 2, and MW2 came out which the last one being the most hyped entertainment launch at that time.

I wish they'd simplify the playlists and add community things like Grifball, a hardcore/MLG playlist, and perhaps some better maps.

Extraction DLC sounds fun, but due to it being DLC, it won't last long. :(
