I came into Xbox half way through Halo 3 so I can't say anything about the forums at the time of its release, but from what I gathered when Halo 3 first launched, all I ever heard was "OMG Halo 3 is the greatest thing to ever bless this earth with its presence." from people. I don't get that from people anymore, not from Reach, and not from Halo 4.
The fact is, you're saying the people will just complain about Halo 4 and how Reach was better. They're not, they're saying both suck and Halo 3 was better. It shows that the direction Halo is currently going in isn't exactly a good one, especially when Halo 3 was 500k strong in population even after CoD4, Gears 2, and MW2 came out which the last one being the most hyped entertainment launch at that time.

I enjoyed Halo 3 and so far I'm enjoying Halo 4. I haven't yet played enough to make a clear decision between the two, but simply saying "you can't argue against that" makes me question your grade level.
Fact: Every time there is a new Halo title released, there is a (usually large) group of people who insist to no end that all previous titles are better. Some people just seem to prefer living in the past.
Or, they just like to complain.
What about halo2sucks.com? And a few years later, how much people didn't complain about 3 being dumbed down from 2?
There have always been a hating cycle for Halo games. Halo 2 was hated, 3 was hated, Reach was hated, and now it is the time for 4. People will just complain, complain and complain.
I dislike the current hate bandwagon for 4, not because the game is flawless, but because the haters flood the Flood (pun not intended) with their pointless threads about their (often) ridiculous complaints and nitpicks. Most threads are just the OP saying "Hey Guize I h8 Halp Fou. 343i are lazee CoD CoD CoD OMG Palmer itz annoyinggg COD lololololol" and everyone having a -blam!- about it, it is like the "Pre-order cancelled" fad a few months ago.
And it is impossible to have a legitimate argument about the game without someone spouting "Halo of Duty 5: Teh D1dact striks bak" *sigh*.
Oh well, I guess I needed to vent myself a little.
