I have a brand new computer, and I don't want to have to install ALL of my steam games again, if I put the steam folder from program files on my old computer , into a removable hard drive and transferred it onto my new computer into program files, will I be able to open steam as if nothing has changed? and will all of my games be available and installed on my new computer without hassle? or will I just have to download steam on my new computer and install all of my games again....

Shameful bump.

On the Left

Godshatter: I can go all the way with someone without being attracted to them.
CamCamm: How does that work?
Godshatter: I'm easily aroused by anything that moves. It's a curse.
Brain says 'No, that's ugly', body says 'ugly is fine with me'.

As long as the steam folder is in the same directory as before then I see no problem with this.

This method you propose works fine on Macbook. So I would think it would be fine in Windows.

Take the Steamapps folder from the old computer, and drop it in the new Steamapps folder.
There shouldn't be any issue.

What if I drop the entire steam folder into my new program files? will that work?

It better just do a fresh Steam install and just drop the Steamapps, but either way will work. :)
