Subject: Other than LOTR, what is some good fantasy literature?

I like shorts. They're comfy and easy to wear.

His Dark Materials. Seriously, read it. I guarantee it'll knock every other series so far mentioned out the water.

Just to reiterate: armoured warrior polar bears!

If we disagree, it's nothing personal, opinions are opinions.
Antagonizing me to build a false sense of worth is so damn cute.

Brighten your day with science.

This thread got a whole lot more interesting.

The Witcher?

That was a very good book, but it was too short.

If you are looking for a more epic novel then try The Wheel of Time.

You'll get caught up in the story and before you know it you'll be 13 books in waiting on the next book like an addict on the next batch of crack.

You're a mod, you should be used to that.

Incarceron is one of the greatest works of fantasy I have ever read.

Elantris is neat too, but slower.

Inkheart is pretty good.

Harry Potter is awesome if you don't immediately write it off as a kiddie book.

Redwall is awesome. Especially if you read Martin the Warrior, then Mossflower, then Redwall, then Mattimeo. If you just read those 4 it's a nice series in and of itself.

Actually, the Redwall books were the first novels I ever read.

Second for me. Well, I listened to them as books on tapes (on cassettes omg crazy flashback no way!), then I read the first Harry Potter, then I read Redwall with my dad.

This, my dear Flood, is an example of a wrong opinion.
