For all questions with answers unknown to you, the proper procedure is to assume the answer is peanut butter.

While that may be true, I'm just going to pretend otherwise.

In the words of Captain Price...

"I never did."

I played Reach last week and it confirm why i hate it so much : Bad story, boring and repetitive level (activate switch button yeeaahh Spartan !) No big battle... The game is terrible.

Activating buttons is very common throughout the Halo games.

I liked Reach since Day 1

I have lost hope in the human race because of people like you.

You lost hope in the human race because some people have a different opinion than you?

*facedesk*

No, because people believe something that isn't good IS good. So, Facepalm to all those who play Halo Reach instead of the better game Halo 4

The concept of opinion is lost on you. You should go back to first grade to learn it again.

lolReach.

Says the Inheritor.
Lol, looking at stats to prove a point? That's pretty shallow.
A year ago that would be considered the best way to win an argument, followed by calling the other guy a 'bad kid'.
It's a shallow way to "win" an argument, and I would hope you would aspire to more than that.

I didn't write that first post. Check again.

Reach is god damn horrible as of right now, but going back to 2010 and early 2011 I can't deny I had a blast playing it, mainly because I stuck in the DLC playlists and never bothered with maps like Sword Base or Boardwalk.

Reach is a "god damn horrible", but also "a blast" when you didn't have to play those 2 maps? Perhaps you mean to say Reach was a fun game with 2 bad maps? Maybe you didn't mean to say that, just guessing because what you did say doesn't make much sense.

  • 12.06.2012 3:01 PM PDT

Halo 4 came out. It's the cycle, back in '04 everyone hated Halo 2, then in '07 everyne hated Halo 3(and loved 2), then in '10 Everyone hated reach (and loved 3), then in '12 everyone hated 4 (then loved reach). then in '1? everyone hated 5 (and praised 4, then in '1? everyone hated 6 (and praised 5), and then the Halo series ended. Now, in '20, everyone loves Halo 6 compared to other modern games.

Just because someone has a different opinion than you doesn't mean that you have to respect that opinion.

Imagine that if overnight, everyone outside of your immediate family became cannibals. In your opinion (hopefully), cannabalism is wrong, but in their opinion, cannibalism is okay. In a situation where you look out your window and see people eating other people, would you not feel sad for how far the human race has fallen?

While losing faith in humanity over people liking a game you dislike is rather silly, the sentiment at it's core is completely understandable, and he does not need to "go back to first grade".

Key

Also, anyone whining about how Bungie retconned canon should probably stop whining. When compared to the global sales of Halo: Reach (~9 million), the sales of The Fall of Reach (1 million as of 2009) only come to about 1/9 of those people. Then, when you take into account all of the people who bought the book but didn't play the game, that fraction becomes even smaller. The point is, the overwhelming majority of people who played Reach never read The Fall of Reach and so acting like it's this huge betrayal of a much-loved and amazing book (which has been panned by critics as an action-movie in book form) is silly.

It's Bungie's series, they can do with it what they want. Do you think that the new Star Wars movie's sales will suffer because it's not using the EU? Nope. Not even a little.

It doesn't, however, mean you need to disrespect that opinion. That's called being a jackass.

And did you just go from video games to cannibalism?

Real account.

Join me as we make new friends from different communities!

If you assign every letter of the alphabet a number, a is 1, b is 2, etc., and you take all of the values of the word "MATH", and add them, you get 42. So math is the meaning of life, the universe, and everything.

I stopped liking it actually, like a a month after the higher ranks were released.

This is a video game, not cannibalism. I respect everyone that says Reach/Halo 4 is bad even thought I don't agree with them. It's okay if you like or don't like a video game. But cannibalism is different.

Unsuccessfully trying to bring science and reason to The Flood...

I actually really liked Halo Reach. There were a lot of flaws, granted. BUT it was still fun to play, imo. 4v4 was still a priority, and maps weren't huge and crammed with vehicles.

Sure bloom was awful, and armour lock led to frustrating situations, but I've sunk more hours into Reach than any other Halo game (although I enjoyed H2/3 more just had more on at the time), and it kept me entertained for 2 years.

I am already bored of H4, its random gameplay, removal of core halo features, and overall bull-blam!-.

H:Reach >>> H4 imo.

Which is entirely different from knowing what an opinion is.

And did you just go from video games to cannibalism?Hypebole can prove a point very quickly, and aren't you glad that it wasn't a Hitler reference for once?

That's how the cycle works. New game comes out, people flock to previous game.

Same thing happened with Halo 2 with 3 came out, and 3 when Reach came out.

  • 12.06.2012 3:25 PM PDT

I enjoy halo for it's story and when I am in the mood, its gameplay. Reach was significantly worse then I expected but was still a great game (minus the european hitscan fiasco). I am sitting on a two mile wide fence on the subject of halo 4. Most of the things I like a technical aspects though and not story or game play. Plus I am slightly mad they took my elites from MP.

I hate base reach
I dislike base 4 because of how much strategy and strategic advantages are lost.

What I meant to say is, the game was pretty solid if you only played in the DLC maps. Maps that didn't encourage grenade spam, maps where Armor Lock wasn't that useful, and maps that didn't encourage people to get to a Yellow Lift room.
