The Drowning Announcement Trailer

I must say as far as iOS goes, this game looks really promising! Honestly it's probably the first iOS game I've seen have such a quality announcement trailer. While I know the post-apocalyptic thing has been done quite a lot, I feel like this is an interesting take on it. Reminded me of "The Birds" mixed with "Resident Evil" or something.

Thoughts?

The day I replace my gaming laptop for an iOS will be the same day I stop existing.

Hey baby, you're just like my big toe. I'm gonna' bang you on every piece of furniture in my house. ;)

Horror or iOS.
Pick one.

Who ever implied that anyone should do that?

No one ever said to replace your gaming computer with an iOS device. Games like these merely allow iOS owners to play a higher end game on a smaller device. You're missing the point entirely.

Forgot the Flood still harbors an irrational hatred for Apple. Whatever.

I'm not missing any of the points you're making.
You post this information here assuming everyone will agree with iOS.

How do you agree with iOS? Do you mean "like" iOS maybe?

And no, I wasn't posting this implying everyone would "agree with iOS" (whatever that even means). I was posting it to show people a new iOS game that could have potential. Maybe insteal of straying entirely off-topic you could actually watch the trailer and say "Hey, that actually looks kinda neat! Too bad I don't have or even intend to own an iOS device"

No one ever asked you to do anything. You're just making assumptions.

Doesn't look bad, but I just can't get into mobile/tablet gaming. Doesn't translate well to touch screen.

I generally agree. However there are some gems out there that work pretty well. Infinity blade is a good example. I'm mostly excited because according to the trailer this game will be entirely free (potential for micro-transactions though).

Looks awesome.

I feel like this will be a success. It's graphics look on par with Infinity Blade 2 and it's going to be free!

Done on unity. Nice! Will pick this up for sure

Currently studying Computer Science & Software engineering. Hope to work on mobile devices of the future! When a certain game's credits roll, look out for my name! ;)

You will -blam!- bricks when you see what game it is! =)

It will never beat this.

In that case I may give it a look afterall. Would be cool if Apple released their own controller for games like this (or modified their API to allow better support for PS3/other bluetooth controllers, but we all know that will never happen). Maybe if this game is successful, they will.

I need to go re-download that! Used to have it on my old 2nd gen iTouch before it broke. Played the hell out of that game (pun intended).Posted by: HD PVR

That would be nice. Honestly I wouldn't put it past them to give better controller support eventually. With iOS being a dominating mobile gaming platform it would be a great idea.

What I would give to use a 360 controller on these games.

I watched the trailer, and I disliked it (disagreed - you know what that means).

No one asked me to post this topic? Really? That's your counter-argument?

Bravo. Now please, either stop straying my thread off-topic and talk about the game, or don't and stop posting in this thread. Refer to the newly added line in my original post for clarification.

Back on topic; the game looks terrible.

I'm sure they'll release their own controller eventually. You can use a Wii controller (if you're jailbroken, of course) with certain emulators already, but I've not yet seen anything written for a PS3 controller.

On Android (rooted), I can connect my PS3 controller and, while I can't see myself ever using it to play games (at least not in a serious manner), it is pretty cool.

edit: Come to think of it, I can probably connect my wired 360 controller to my Android devices as well (using one of these - it works with wired keyboards and mice).

I am...whimsical today.

I was interested until I saw the gameplay. Doesn't look particularly original enough for me, personally.

I'd be happy to be proved wrong, maybe see some gameplay that isn't FPZS.

You're not adding anything meaningful to this discussion. You don't like the game. You don't like the platform. Yet you're still here. I can only assume to get a rise out of me or for some other possibly childish reason.

I kinda felt the same a little. We didn't see too much gameplay to make a final judgement but what we did see did look a little generic I must say. Hopefully they deliver and it's a little more interesting than that.

Yes, I'm the guy who had the Flood admit to being furries.

Hope it comes to PC or something, I doubt my Gen 4 Ipod Touch would be able to run it.

Why else are you responding? Are we not both childish in that case?
We both strive to prove our points when we clearly have conflicting opinions.

Respect my opinion as I have done with yours, we are done with this argument.

Eh, I have an iPhone and all but...
