"You build on failure. You use it as a stepping stone. Close the door on the past. You don't try to forget the mistakes, but you don't dwell on it. You don't let it have any of your energy, or any of your time, or any of your space." -Johnny Cash

I guess this is a good thing to tell the newer members that haven't been through such a darkness before, but the older members know this already. Also, I think this would be a good time to bring up the idea of having an automated PM or something similar that informs new users of the forum rules, code of conduct, and terms of use.

Also censor the names of sexist chocolate bars that attempt to prevent the female gender from eating them please. I feel strongly on the matter of gender equality.

The storms come and go, the waves crash overhead, the big fish eat the little fish, and I keep on paddling.

Mmm, that's deep. I'm actually looking forward to this storm of ours, I've been feeling kinda newbie around all of you guys and your pretty colors. Also, new members = more activity.

In a time long past, the armies of the dark came again to the lands of men. Their leaders became known as the fallen lords, and their terrible sorcery was without equal in the west.
In 30 years they reduced the civilized nations into carrion and ash. Until the free city of Madrigal alone defined them. An army gathered there, and a desperate battle was joined against the fallen
Heros were born in the fire and bloodshed of the wars which followed and their names and deeds will never be forgotten

Oh yeah, since somebody does not believe what YOU believe; that makes us vapid...
I cannot grasp that what you call "Something happened to nothing, and that nothing became something, and it was smaller than than a period."

One suggestion is to make a thread that explains all of the simple things new people can miss, like quotes or the text formats or Coup etc.

Please stop complaining about the 'death of a loved one' it's my job. They probably deserved it anyways. Here's a warning, if you keep making pentagrams out of the neighbors livestock I will personally come to your house and kill everyone you love. Now leave me alone, I got to get back to work.
~M.D~

I'll have friends from before the burst and after, I'm kind of excited to meet new people. I'll treat 'em good ;)

  • 12.06.2012 4:14 PM PDT

I am encouraged by this thread. It's really good to know there are mature people willing to help out guys new to the forum.

Also, it gets me excited because I think we are on the edge of the cliff, ready to dive off any day now.

Thanks for posting this, OP.

"I firmly believe that any man's finest hour, the greatest fulfillment of all that he holds dear, is that moment when he has worked his heart out in a good cause and lies exhausted on the field of battle- victorious"

When the storm eventually hits Bnet, I'll retreat to the Universe/ other forums along with some of the other members. Got to honour dem traditions man!

OT: If the newbies upset the balance of these forums, I will make it my personal quest to destroy them. Nah, just kidding. I will respect them.

Yes we all know once Destiny comes about, there will be a mass amount of new-comers.

"Prepare to drop."
Prepare to face so many fail threads.

Don't worry, he's still conspiring against the mythics. You've got some time until he targets you. Start building a fortress, it will defend you from the ninjas.
