I don't see you doing anything to help our country.
Except sitting at home, naked, eating twinkies, rubbing your hands together going "Heh. Target Destroyed. Mission Accomplished." Oh wait. that's not helping.

Let me just start by saying if you want to avoid spoilers on Halo 4 or on any of the books it would be wise to leave now. I have two main theories outlined below, so read whichever suits you. I have them clearly marked with a header, so onto that then.

Ancient Memories
In the Forerunner saga it is revealed that humans after the Human-Forerunner war were implanted with a marking by the Librarian. This marking could be one of two things; A Geas, or the memories of an ancient human. A Geas is essentially a beacon that when activated would draw the individual implanted with it towards it. When ignored the individual will become weak to a point of near death, eventually having to follow the "signal". Then there were the ancient human memories.

The commanding officers of the ancient humans were composed after the Human-Forerunner war. The rest of the species was of course devolved into several subspecies. However there exists a possibility opened by the books. They could then be placed either inside of a machine, such as a monitor, or they could be placed into the mind of the current humans. When implanted into the human they lie dormant until an activation is triggered by some event. Once awakened they can communicate with their host, and if allowed to/they gain enough power to they can take over the host body and use it as their own.

As we all know, or should know at least should know, Master Chief was given a sort of "upgrade" by the librarian. It was never explained exactly what was done, other than he is now immune to the composer, and that he can defeat the Didact with this upgrade. My thought is that maybe he was implanted with a dormant ancient human, one that will be awakened next game to fill the void where Cortana was. This would help to explain her death and also create a new set of challenges for Chief. This ancient would most likely be of high military standing and would perhaps put Chief into a power struggle within his own head.

Bornstellar-Didact
To begin this theory we must first look at two things revealed in the Forerunner saga; number one being there are/were two arks. The second part of that is the smaller ark was the one used for the construction of new rings. The other a preservation, the final outpost of the Forerunner empire. The smaller one was blown up. The larger Ark still resides out somewhere in the unknown, perhaps holding the still living Forerunner society.

It is highly likely that if this is the case Bornstellar-Didact and the Librarian still live at this location. We now have a possible clash of the good and evil Didact. The second book ends with 343 Guilty Spark (Chakas, I had a nerdgasm when I read that) taking over some unknown UNSC vessel, in search of his long lost friends. He claims that current humans have their memories inside of them, and he knows how to find them. Who has knowledge of all of this? The Librarian. Where is the Librarian? On the second Ark.

At the end of Halo 4 the Ur-Didact is speaking to an unknown crowd. Perhaps he was apprehended by the remains of the Forerunner empire and is now being tried before the court. Bornstellar-Didact and his wife of course want to be equals with the humans. The Ur-Didact wants none of that. So I could see a possible Forerunner civil war spring up as well.

Conclusion
So the two possibilities I see are a Master Chief that has a new being living in his head, creating an internal conflict. Then we also have 343-GS heading somewhere with a stolen UNSC ship to find his lost friends, possibly to the Ark. Even if that is not his destination, the sheer mention that their memories are in other humans shows the first theory as highly plausible. Even if 343-GS does not venture to the Ark, the story of Bornstellar-Didact and of the Forerunners could still be implemented and after seeing the ending it seems like it might be. The book even ends claiming Bornstellar-Didact and his wifre, the Librarian, will be commanding the remains of the empire now.

So what are your thoughts on all of this Flood? I'm sure there are many more points to connect, but the Ur-Didact's speech at the end really seems to be hinting to the second theory. I can't wait to see how this plays out, and we have a long wait ahead of us. So let's get to speculating then.

Do you have a life? All you seem to do is post long-ass threads on the Flood concerning Halo.

Major props to my hommie Sheeef. He made Recon possible for me. Long time recovering emails and passwords. And it was his. lol.

Lol you made this thread earlier last week or so.
You got mad at me cuz i didn't read ANY OF THAT WALL and came up with my own theory on Halo 5 and Halo 6.

I think in the next game the new cortana ai is going to be a boy, proving doctor Halsey is confused about her gender and appeasing the growing level of people becoming and who are -blam!- who play halo games. Who doesn't want to see chief become infatuated with a male cortana? Is the real question.

Well lets see, I got home at around 5:30, ate dinner, did some work, came on here, typed this up in about 15 minutes and here we are now. If you mean to imply it takes me a long time to type these, it doesn't, and it shouldn't.

No, I got mad at you for calling me an idiot for putting spoiler warning when the spoiler was very clearly in the first two sentences. That showed you didn't even bother to read TWO SENTENCES, and then felt the need to be a dick about it. If you're going to be lazy that's fine, but don't bother posting here.

I didn't call you an idiot bro. Was saying what i though about Halo 4 - 6. Said Halo 6 will probably have the Didact join forces with humanity cuz The Flood will show up and yah. They destroy Fludz.

But thanks for proving me right that you already made this thread. XD

I felt it was far too simplistic for what could have been done, choosing to be entirely emotional instead of reintroducing what feels like a lasting conflict. That being said, after reading the second book there is so much to capitalize on to craft an epic story that I have VERY high expectations for Halo 5. If they decided to skimp out again then I'm done, plain and simple.

Your post started with a statement saying the spoiler tag served no purpose. I will go and look it up if I have to. I agree, but not the Ur-Didact. That is why I think Bornstellar-Didact will be making a return.

Oh and while I did make a thread outlining the first theory, the second had not been posted so I felt it warranted a new thread.
