Subject: Do you think the USA could have won WWII on its own?

Studies show that men think about sex every 7 seconds. I do my best to eat hotdogs in under 6, just so things don't get weird.

Please allow me to introduce Myself
I'm a man of wealth and taste
I've been around for a long, long year
Stole many a man's soul and faith

Say Japan had waited until Germany had won the Eastern Front to attack Pearl Harbor. The UK would only last so long, which would leave the US against the Axis all by itself. Could it have still won the war?

Discuss.

Doubt it.

And before any flame wars start, I would like to point out that WWII was a team effort. No country could have won by themselves. We were all in this together.

Are we the only ones in possession of nuclear technology? Or in this scenario do we even have nuclear capability at all?

Lost In Las Vegas
Missed You

Remember all
The sadness and frustration
And let it go

Nope. The Russian winter helped quite a bit with the German Army.

It could have easily defeated the Japanese on its own (as it pretty much did anyway), but without the UK and Russia, gaining a foothold on Europe would have been all but impossible. Germany probably would've ended up with nukes and it would just become an alternate Cold War.

Without a second though, no. Those wars were team efforts, and without that team, mostly everybody was screwed.

No. You'd be speaking Vietnamese right now. And japan would be very boring.

The only way that the US could have won it by themselves was if they would have used many nukes.

My problems [with Reach] are basically just full parties, mlg, and people who go out of their way not to get killed.

Defeated Japan AND Germany at the same time? Probably not. After they build the atom bomb, though, of course.

That would be highly unlikely. With the RN gone, the joint German-Japanese fleets would have nearly total sea supremacy. Once Germany re-equips and rearms, the Americans would have little chance, especially since the German jet program would be accelerated.

It was an American-funded and mostly American endeavor.

I would argue that after Stalin turned the Axis forces back at (Stalingrad? Was that where it was?) the tide of the war was turned, Hitler had simply spread himself too thin. I think, had the Germans not violated the Soviet Non-Aggression Pact, that they would have won in this circumstance. But, US or no, I believe that the fatal mistake lay in attacking the Soviet Union.

I am...whimsical today.

I think at the very least they'd need an enemy, otherwise it's not really a war...

The strongest Rivals are also the strongest allies.

UK, with the US's supply support could have held on for a long time. long enough for the US to finally decide to get fully involved.
