Odie's Iced Tea - $59.98

Pfhor Eternity

Marathon: Durandal: 0:36:46 (Kindergarten) WR

I can't believe I never thought of this before...why didn't they ever patch the several button glitches that existed in the game? Doesn't make sense to me. Sure, they were glorious in our minds, but to them they MUST have seen them as game-breaking. So why not?

Maybe they couldn't.

Because it's a glitch? And developers don't want glitches in their game...

<(-_-)> Teh mokey is not amused

What is this BxR you speak of?

  • 12.06.2012 5:31 PM PDT

Half the reason I played Halo 2 for as long as I did was for the glitches.

RIP superjumps

  • 12.06.2012 5:32 PM PDT

It makes me wonder how much everyone who loved BXR in Halo 2 would complain if something like that were in Halo 4.

"Insert generic signature here"

Because the MLG community threw a hissy fit saying that the button combos took skill to master and that removing them would make the game too casual.

Oh, and then there's the fact that since the game was developed in under 9 months, bungie was afraid that patching them would lead to even more glitches.

  • 12.06.2012 5:32 PM PDT

They couldn't. It was an animation exploit due to being able to lower your weapon over Xbox Live. Bungie could not change the animation at that point without causing a large amount of other bugs, some game-breaking and others minor, thus it was not changed. Instead, Bungie opted to simply remove the option to lower weapons over Xbox Live in future titles to ensure it did not ever happen [as predominantly] again.

A button glitch that allows you to instantly kill someone up close.

Something about it being too complex of a problem, which is software engineer speak for "we're too lazy to fix it."

Bugs like bxr and quadshotting and all that garbage were too deep into the code of the game for them to fix in a cost effective manner.

If you didn't Play Halo: CE or Halo 2 MP, your opinion about Halo means nada.

CE + H2 >>>>>>>>>>>>>> H3+Reach+H4

because it made the game better, and deep down they knew that.

Actually based on writes from bungie employees during the halo 2 days due to the cause of the glitch not everyone could do it. Though they also couldn't find a reliable way to patch it either. It was also something you could get banned for doing.

Why does everyone hate Halo 2? Maybe its because its the worst game ever next to mario.

There was nothing better than BxR'ing somebody in the face.
