No, that's not fair. Yes, there are BR's and Carbines on the map, but it's not one of those things where I trip over a rock and see three different BR's in front of me. Usually my team mates get to the only one on our side of the map first, and in a map like The Pit, there is no Carbine and look! There's only one BR on our side. If you're saying it's my fault that I have players in my game that are too incompetent to understand what game types to have is good, then YOU are the one that is showing how much of a Noob you are. Any competent player would veto a good map with AR starts for a mediocre map with BR starts any day. If you can't understand that, you need to drag your ass back into Halo 3 and play some more.

But it only makes sense to veto for a map that you want to play because you can find Battle Rifles ad Assault Rifles in every map. And everyone has preferred maps. Not as good with the AR as you would like to be? Just switch it out with a BR or Carbine from the map. It's really not that hard. If you're just mad that the game is making it harder for you (and your opponents - fair play), then you're just telling me how much of a noob you are. You like it the easy way. A good player knows the strengths and weaknesses of every weapon and can take on any situation and make the best of it. I find that to be the better part of the competition and something very fun and intriguing in the Halo series. Of course all of that is dead now, but you get my point.
There are 2 BR spawns per side in the pit. The rest of your paragraph is just repeating the same message: I don't know how to play without a BR, or any other weapon for that matter and it is unfair that I start with a weapon I suck with.
And I hate to pull the "Halo 3 stats" card but it only helps my side of the argument. But even if you were professional, it wouldn't change the fact that AR starts are completely fair and actually provides a much more challenging match.
