This does not make any sense

Reading the article it seems that some guy in a pickup pulled up the driveway (probably accidentally which happens alot in the country) and suddenly a man and his son is trigger happy and starts pointing guns ASAP basically being REALLY immature and irresponsible with a gun (probably thinking real life is Black Ops) and the guy calls 911 confused while the wife confirms the whole stupidity of the situation.

Honestly I need more details before I start siding, this is too sketchy

I am pretty sure that someone entering your home uninvited is reason enough to get your gun.

The fact that the home owner did not shoot shows great restraint, not a trigger happy redneck.
he never entered the house dude. And I had people pull up my driveway and make u turns all the time. And I'm not stupid enough to start pointing guns at people becuase they're in my driveway. Have one in my pocket? Yes. Pointing it and being trigger happy just becuase he is in my driveway? No

Except the guy did go into their house.

SpartanMk18, I will personally give you an AR-15 to stop posting gun threads.

Mil-spec with magpul furniture, a decent CCO, 10 pinned PMAGS, 5000 rounds of ammo, and we'll talk.

What kind of clips do you want for your machine gun? Do you want a big clip, or a regular-sized clip? Do you want an aimer?

i would like to take that sentence as something not made up by the wife and father but somehow I just can't. The story just seems far stretch for both sides

You didn't specify what kind of clip you wanted for your murder tool.

Ok, ask your self.

What reason does someone have to pointing a gun at someone, calling the police, not shooting, then saying the man was not in his right mind?

What does that get them? They obviously didn't want the guy dead, because they had the opportunity to shoot him. They obviously didn't want to rob him because they called the cops too. What could they possibly gain by detaining someone?

The Flood really needs to stop making assumptions in favor of criminals.

Then go take a nap, rest your mind so it doesn't overheat.

Maybe afterwards you can give me a response that is an actual response with good points being made.

If you watch the video it says that the guy walked into there house, into the bedroom, then back to his truck at which point he had a gun pointed at him.

  • 12.06.2012 8:04 PM PDT

Savage,
1) watch the video.
2) Even ignoring the video and saying he just pulled into their driveway to make a U-turn how long would he have had to have been there for them to notice him and get a gun? In the country houses are big, and you often don't know whats going on on one side if you are on the other. That's why my family has dogs, natures doorbell and FOF tag.
If he needed directions he could have asked them, or lowered a window and explained himself. Watching the video it's obvious they aren't the banjo-playing "Deliverance" rejects you're imagining, the man is very reasonable.

What's with America and home invasions?

we don't have enough sense of security among our own people. We therefore feel the need to purchase big guns and scare our own people away from ourselves. We don't trust anybody but ourselves in America.

It's unfortunate, but that's how it is. And American Gun culture evolved this way. You get a right to bear arms and it has become the all-mighty excuse to keep American society the way it is. It's weird, really. It's like people rather choose to live a life of social anxiety. Oh well.

He's asking why there are so many home invasions in America, not for your opinion on why people want guns. Which is proven to be erroneous in the very thread you are posting in.
Now that I think about it did you even read the article or did you just find a thread with gun in the title and come in to throw in your 2 cents about why gun owners are stupid and leave, because that's not how positive discussions work.
