Racism isn't wrong if it's funny.

What we can all agree on is that War is a messy thing, and that while it's sometimes necessary, it's important that we remember why they must be fought and those that sacrificed themselves for the ideals we feel we must protect.

Millions of people died in WWII. All sides. But alot more people died in Europe with all the cities which got blown to hell. And whats more, the millions of people who died in the concentration camps.

Why should we pay our respects to a very small number in one country who didn't get involved untill the second half, when we should pay respects to everyone who died in the war?

The USA pushed Japan into early war, and had forewarning of the Pearl Harbour attack but ignored it. Just sayin'

The campaign of civilian bombing the USA embarked on Japan and the Allies on Germany was inexcusable, in my eyes. We proved we were no better than the enemy.

Pearl Harbor was beastly, but the nukes were unnecessary.

Casualty predictions of invading the mainland were upwards of 1,000,000 on both sides. I'm not saying I like the nukes, but it was the better option.

They knew that Japan was planning an attack on the US but they did not know where or when. And Japan did a lot more than just hit Pearl Harbor on Dec 7th. They hit Malaya, The Philippines, Formosa, Hong Kong, Guam, and Wake Island. (though technically because of the time differences these on the 8th.) And Japan had invaded China and Manchuria 10 years earlier and the US didn't cause that.

Your point is true. But when it comes to war, "being the better man" doesn't matter when you lose.

There's a time to mourn all of those people who died, but today, December 7th, is the anniversary of Pearl Harbor. I don't know why this is that hard to understand.

Yet if that did not happen. The Japanese would have been nearly destroyed. They had that mentality to literally fight to the last man.

Geez, don't get your jimmies all rustled. It was a small joke.

Might I also say to the people bringing up the atomic bombings: Yes, more people may have died but it was the uttermost final resort against Japan. Millions of lives would have lost if a naval invasion took place. Heck, Japan may not exist today if so.

The U.S dropped leaflets warning Japanese to surrender or else. Maybe if the Japanese didn't have such a high ego about themselves and realized they needed to surrender and not worry about honor, nuclear weapons could have been avoided.
