A cornered fox is more dangerous than a jackal.

And from FOX, two phantoms were born.

So what do you think of Quick Time Events?

I can't say I'm a fan, though I do feel it lends itself well to interactive cinematic sequences, just not when it's EVERYWHERE. *Cough* DBZ Ultimate Tenkaichi *cough*

I mean in Star Wars: The Force Unleashed some of them looked good, really good, but I think it went a bit overboard.

Terrible.

It's a tool that is to be used sparingly if at all. You got to save it for when it matters, like finishing off a final boss, it's better than a cinematic because the player still feels like he is playing.

However, if you overuse it for trivial tasks, it just feels like a gimic, and it breaks immersion.

I am... indifferent really. As long as they don't get in the way of good gameplay opportunities, basically being used as substitutes for gameplay/boss battles.

Boring.

Yeah, having them in cutscenes is ok. Having QTEs to one shot enemies is not (Force Unleashed, Prototype 2, and many others).

NON FACET NOBIS CALCITRARE VESTRUM PERNǢUM

Hate quick time event with a passion, can't tell you how many times I've put the controller down to watch a cut-scene and in a min a button prompt appears. They are a hassle.

It really depends for me. I'm not a fan of the "Press X to not die" ones, but I'm ok with them if they are optional (Bayonetta combat for example) or if they are the ones where you have to mash to punch or something (Vanquish, or spanking/kicking enemies in God Hand).

I don't like them during cut-scenes either.

I only have a problem with them when they stop an amazing fight scene from happening. Think of all the boss fights in Mario games, then replace that with pressing buttons at the right moment. Not as satisfying...

“If we will disbelieve everything, because we cannot certainly know all things, we shall do much what as wisely as he who would not use his legs, but sit still and perish, because he had no wings to fly.” - John Locke

"How can anyone be enlightened? Truth after all is so poorly lit." - Rush

For the most part, annoying, gimmicky, and unnecessary.

Every once and a while it's cool, but for the most part really crappy imo

So many differing opinions here.....

I personally think it should only be used as a cool twist to a normal part of the game, not use it constantly, games like battlefield 3 and halo 4 got it right in my opinion. But developers need to learn the line inbetween an action game and heavy rain

I can honestly say that I've never ONCE been watching a cutscene and thought to myself, "Hey! You know what would make this better?! If I had to press A riiiiiiight. NOW!"

Muffins are just ugly cupcakes

They're annoying, especially when one pops up in a cutscene and you have to scramble for the controller.

Maybe some developers think that today's gamers don't care about story and custscenes and just want NO HOLDS BARRED THIRILLS CONSTANT ACTION so they put it in there to keep it going.
