Subject: Urk says Bungie is not going to be at VGAs

In a time long past, the armies of the dark came again to the lands of men. Their leaders became known as the fallen lords, and their terrible sorcery was without equal in the west.
In 30 years they reduced the civilized nations into carrion and ash. Until the free city of Madrigal alone defined them. An army gathered there, and a desperate battle was joined against the fallen
Heros were born in the fire and bloodshed of the wars which followed and their names and deeds will never be forgotten

Does Urk mean that they won't be physically there or that they won't be showing anything off?

damn it, more uncertainty

This is the kind of crap that gets you guys worked up and disappointed/pissed off in the first place. Right here, in this thread is the "circumstantial evidence" (which isn't circumstantial evidence at all) that you use to build yourself up.

Jeez guys.

It has been a long time since the darkness was initiated.

Technically, "Bungie" does not have to be there and Spike can present a trailer or teaser.

Do you think Bungie would really say much before they reveal their next game?

Hopefully we get something soon (in the foreseeable future)

But there are factors! Signs! Signals! All of which do not exist but they do exist, thus meaning there's probably a trailer coming!

Come on True, keep up with the hype. Brah.

Bye.

I'm not expecting anything, I was just pointing out that it's possible that there could still be a teaser.

I would very much doubt it though.

I would expect Bungie to run a countdown on the front page for a few days, then remove it and say nothing for a while.

Then they'd announce it.

No. They've been running on earnings from their previous enterprises, their proven talent as game developers, and possibly contract payments from Activision.

And, of course, a community of fans who sometimes take their loyalty and sense of wanting too far.

No they haven't. That's ridiculous you'd even imply such a thing.

The last big weekly update essentially consisted of,

"Guys, we're going dark for a LONG time to work on our next big thing. We will attempt to entertain you in the interim, but it's gonna be a while..." Which was eventually followed up with "See you starside, 2012".

So where is this hype? Oh yeah it's the one you've been creating for yourself in your own mind.

Seeing as the game has been cited as a late 2013 release, when will they reveal it then?

Can't see it being at E3, that'd be far too late. It'd have to be some show before then, but what?

People have been waiting for the "next big thing" for a while now. I remember all those old threads trying to find symbols and references to Destiny. Recently a leak brought back more hype.

Maybe the hype has not been "massive" but you can't say it hasn't been there.

Ken, you do realize then that means YOU'VE been getting hyped due to threads created by users, and not by anything said by Bungie. Ergo, you created your own hype as a result of reading theoretical threads.

Bungie Day created hype too with the new shirts and mysterious avatars.

The Bungie Day 10 year video talked a good bit about the future.

The leak got me hyped too but yeah that wasn't from Bungie

But I am sure I am not the only one

I was sort of hoping to catch there announcement up as a clip on Youtube tomorrow instead of sitting through the whole VGAs anyway, so I guess this just saves me more time.

Maybe in the next few months we'll see something.

Bungie will reveal it when they are ready. Thats why I'm not sad or disappointed, becasue I know it will happen at the right time.

If they knew Activision would tease their game, Bungie wouldn't have said anything. It's very unlikely they'd try to mislead us.

Don't bother.

At least the initial hype for Bungie revealing something at the VGAs, though entirely user created, was plausible. It's the reason I invested my hopes in it, and I invested those hopes knowing that there was no official evidence which pointed towards the VGAs and I knew that if any fallout were to occur if they weren't at the VGAs that it would be entirely my fault. It is the cost of gambling with your emotions.

Don't make that bet unless you have evidence to believe in, and honestly "maybe Bungie is just fooling us" is rubbish at best.
