So do all who live to see such times, but that is not for them to decide. All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given to us.

The American people elected the people that committed these acts, and gave them support. Don't act as if all Americans are against these wars. Even IF all Americans were against the wars, why do they let the government keep fighting them? So naïve to think the citizens of a DEMOCRATIC nation aren't responsible for their government's actions.

I don't think you fully understand how democracy in the US works.

I wouldn't call it a democracy

What are you talking about? Anti-American sentiment is by far the majority in the world and even pretty popular here in the States. Not many people stand up for the States even if they are right.

If you want evidence as far as the Flood is concerned go into any topic involving America and you'll see a bunch of people talking about how evil America is without posting evidence. Then when they do post evidence it's nothing but rehashed material such as, "They nuked Japan! Those fools!" Completely disregarding the logic behind the move in the first place.

To top it all off most people who frequent this forum are in high school and have the world view, political and historical knowledge of a dead rat.

Imagine a triangle. It's perfect, but a little plain. You take a chisel, and carve a small decorative symbol into it to make it a little more interesting. People like it, but it could use a little more.

So you then take a sledgehammer..

Then when they do post evidence it's nothing but rehashed material such as, "They nuked Japan! Those fools!" Completely disregarding the logic behind the move in the first place.

Logic!?
Are you implying that the use of nuclear weapons on innocent civilians was justified!?

Japan had already surrendered, there was no need for use of nuclear weapons.
The US wanted to test their bomb, and test their bomb they did.

Japan hadn't surrendered yet. They proposed conditional surrender, but the US wouldn't have it. It would be unconditional or be destroyed.

But they offered a surrender. And the US responded by dropping The Bomb on them, twice.

Japan surrendered after the deployment of the second bomb.

he has a point. If America and the U.K went to war and the U.K bombed New York and say it killed 1,000+ people wouldn't the world cry war crimes since it was done in order to destroy a small military force but in the end still killed 1,000+ civilians?

Japan hadn't surrendered yet. They proposed conditional surrender, but the US wouldn't have it. It would be unconditional or be destroyed.

There were talks about surrender before the first bomb was dropped, but Japan didn't agree on all the conditions.

The conditioned surrender was hardly favorable to the Allies and the Pacific in general. Unconditional surrender was truly the best way to bring about an end to the hostilities.

If dropping two bombs prevented the invasion and decade-long occupation of a hostile island bringing about millions of casualties for both sides was the alternative... I'd say it was, in fact, logical to drop the bombs.

That speaks more of our human condition than anything.
