Facebook is really crappy because it's gotten to the point that you're judged if you're not on facebook. I mean really, people judge you for not putting your face on a website that sells all your information, how messed up is that?
You don't have to post any of your personal information there. You don't even have to use your own face. Then you can just use the site to interact with people, if you are so afraid that someone will buy your information.
Yes, in present day, now that we know everything about facebook, of course people don't have to put on anything more than they want. However, this -blam!- gets kids when they're young and not internet-savvy. I could delete my facebook account now, but the damage is done, they still have all the information I posted back when I was convinced to go on facebook in 2008.

Twitter is fun.

That's why you need to be conscious of what you post. Why should I hire someone whose image could negatively impact my business? If I can find everything about you through Google, so can the people I'm doing business with.

I agree, but unfortunately there are a lot of people that don't realize just because they are on the Internet and have their info set to private it is private. So they post about things that could negatively affect their future.

We are all obviously masters of speaking face to face and speaking clearly over the phone and all have unlimited minutes to talk with on our cellphones.

Facebook gets rid of that.

It's quite obvious really. We're too social in a certain area to want the other.

A lot of people on the Flood and news stations mention the first two, the first one especially.

And nice "/america". Got nothing intelligent to contribute?

Everything you know is wrong.

I think most people utilizing social media believe they are more important than they really are.

In a time long past, the armies of the dark came again to the lands of men. Their leaders became known as the fallen lords, and their terrible sorcery was without equal in the west.
In 30 years they reduced the civilized nations into carrion and ash. Until the free city of Madrigal alone defined them. An army gathered there, and a desperate battle was joined against the fallen
Heros were born in the fire and bloodshed of the wars which followed and their names and deeds will never be forgotten

...So don't post anything you'd regret? Don't post anything or share anything you wouldn't show someone in real life? Don't associate yourself with someone you wouldn't in real life?

Common sense.

It isn't that simple for some people due to as he said what is acceptable for you might not be acceptable for your future employer.

Give me an example of something one level-headed person wouldn't care that another level-headed person might.

Sometimes I am tempted to quit gaming. I can no longer play without seeing ponyphags, horrendously bad teammates and mexicans.

Gaming community, I want you to know that you suck.

I find that Teh-Ziod is NOT attractive for the reasons
she/he does not correct format sentences, therefore for intelligent matured members of society that may interact with her/him, may find her/him UNattractive for the reason that she/he does not comprehend with their level to successfully have a conversation therefore it will be socially an awkward interaction which may be wanted to be avoided

second i do not find it physically possible for a PERSON to be a ice cream truck.

They have no friends. I'm not even kidding. They hate social networking because they can't take part in it.

It's not uncommon (in the US) for an employer to ask a potential employee/interview candidate to login to their Facebook account during the interview so they can rummage through it. I don't, and never will, do this, but I know some of the other hiring managers at my company have done this.

As somebody in their mid-twenties, I rarely actually use Facebook, but it can be a good tool for keeping in touch with old friends. I can't argue that it is annoying when young, immature people start posting about everything and anything, though.

And Twitter... Twitter is just good for getting news. I use it as a source of news updates from various places as usually it'll be on there first, instead of having to visit multiple websites to check what's new.

Clearly, since this thread seems to be for those who can't spot obvious libel/media bias.

That's absolutely horrible. I don't exist to work for a company, so what I have done before joining them and what I do on my free time should be none of their business. My god help America if that really happens there.
