Tied up loose ends with the Quarian and Geth, Huge choices concerning curing the Krogen of the Genophage, Wrex and completely B.Aery of Tuchanka and it's guardian taking down a Reaper. Great, fun, and challenging multiplayer with free fun dlc - maps, unique characters, etc. Beautiful scenery and overall feeling of hopelessness.
I never said ME3 was a bad game, but it's definitely not GOTY material.
(For the record, it's not even BioWare's worst game. That dubious honor goes to Dragon Age 2.)
The game did tie up loose ends regarding the Genophage and Quarian/Geth arcs. That much is true. I was unhappy with the way the Quarian/Geth arc was framed in this game, though. Oh, the Reapers are here, sounds like a great time to go to war with the Geth. Let's get 'em!
Multiplayer was never a part of the series before ME3 and I can't shake the feeling that the resources that went into creating the multiplayer could have been used to polish the campaign instead.
The graphics and art are nice, but they are no better than ME2. The constant darkness was irritating but I understand that it was a thematic choice. (I'm talking about the darkness of the graphics. Just so we're clear.)
Basically, ME3 was a rushed product and a gigantic waste of potential. It wasn't terrible but it wasn't great either, and it certainly failed to match the greatness of the previous two entries in the series.
