This man, this man right here put it so eloquently that I actually cancelled my own 2000+ word long post.

The person who said participating is important, not winning, obviously never won anything.

Title for Reference.

Now we all know how infamous ME3s ending was, although many thing were improved with the Extended Cut, I feel that way to many gamers are going to throw an amazingly beautiful +20h experience out the window just because the last 10 minutes may have not been what you hyped yourself up for. Mass Effect 3 deserves the GOTY way above any other game for so many reasons like the music, the once again fantastic cast of characters, the settings and being able to watch 2km long Reapers walk among the city making every engagement have a bigger feeling and not just reduced to the player, the loose ends that get tied and questions answered, the feeling of actually being able to win the war on Rannoch to instantly feeling hopeless with the Fall of Thessia.

Mass Effect 3 did almost everything as perfect as could be. As a huge Halo fan since the start, I honestly believe the Mass Effect Universe haa taken over as my all time favorite, and thats saying a lot.

Anyways, my point is, please remember the game a a whole and not just by its ending. This game rises above all others in almost all departments and is much more memorable and gets you emotionally invested. Sorry for the cluster of sentences, typing this on IE on my 360 is awkward.

Mass Effect 3 did almost everything as perfect as could be.

War assets.
N7 missions.
Fetch quests acquired by walking past NPC conversations.
Day-one DLC central to the lore of the series.
Terrible ending. Minimal influence of player decision on the content of the ending. It shouldn't even have been an ending. We were promised multiple endings that would reflect our actions throughout the trilogy. This is not what we got.

I agree. People are deeming it bad just because the last few minutes of the game. They're completely disregarding the rest of the game.

It's my GOTY vote as well.

Terrible all around story, with the crucible deus ex machina and Cerberus being all over the -blam!- galaxy

Extremely poorly organized journal

Kai Leng and Vent Boy (need I say more)

Or you know, the game could've just been Shepard sitting back doing nothing while everyone else in the galaxy is wiped out by the reapers. That would've been a much better game.

Tied up loose ends with the Quarian and Geth, Huge choices concerning curing the Krogen of the Genophage, Wrex and completely B.Aery of Tuchanka and it's guardian taking down a Reaper. Great, fun, and challenging multiplayer with free fun dlc - maps, unique characters, etc. Beautiful scenery and overall feeling of hopelessness. Lengthy campaign that was amazing until the last minutes. (33 hours than me which was more than ME1 and equal or more than ME2.)

It matters not how strait the gate,
How charged with punishments the scroll.
I am the master of my fate:
I am the captain of my soul.

The game still wasn't all that great. Sure, it had it's moments, but it's definitely not GOTY material.

My troll sense is tingling.

In all honesty, the game is good. Not great, not amazing, just good. There were problems with it even before the ending, and only got me really interested during a few highlights.

EA pushed the boundaries of selling an imcomplete game.

I never said ME3 was a bad game, but it's definitely not GOTY material.

(For the record, it's not even BioWare's worst game. That dubious honor goes to Dragon Age 2.)

The game did tie up loose ends regarding the Genophage and Quarian/Geth arcs. That much is true. I was unhappy with the way the Quarian/Geth arc was framed in this game, though. Oh, the Reapers are here, sounds like a great time to go to war with the Geth. Let's get 'em!

Multiplayer was never a part of the series before ME3 and I can't shake the feeling that the resources that went into creating the multiplayer could have been used to polish the campaign instead.

The graphics and art are nice, but they are no better than ME2. The constant darkness was irritating but I understand that it was a thematic choice. (I'm talking about the darkness of the graphics. Just so we're clear.)

Basically, ME3 was a rushed product and a gigantic waste of potential. It wasn't terrible but it wasn't great either, and it certainly failed to match the greatness of the previous two entries in the series.

You see? There you go with the ending. Its the biggest deal everyone has and which I made the thread. You cant throw the whole game away because of the ending. I for one liked it, all three options had me thinking a while before I choose. Bioware worded it wrong. Difference is, I didnt hype myself for the game and thus was no where near disapointed.

From Ashes is central, sure, but it doesnt break the game not having it. Its nitpicking really. As goes for talling to squadmates for access to side missions. Its been like that since ME1, what are you complaining for? And whats wrong with War Assets?

Welcome to modern entertainment. The last few minutes of a movie, TV show, book, or video game can make or break the entire product.

Every creator of these products plays this game, and the developers for ME3 lost it.

RIP Logan ~B.B.

I agree. I thought the game was incredibly well done. The resolution of the Krogan storyline was one of the best in all of gaming. It brought the rest of the stories to a satisfying end. I actually really liked the multi-player. Sure, it was limited to firefight, but a nice addition considering the ME series never needed any at all.
