So which is your preferred zelda? I know everyone likes ocarina of time/majoras mask or wind waker, but of the 2 most recent zeldas which did you prefer.

If you didn't play either then theres no real point in responding.

Personally I preferred Twilight Princess's art style/story/gameplay.

Discuss what you liked/didn't like.

Never even beat Skyward Sword. Those Wii Motion + controls or whatever they call them are awful, and were so glitchy. The game itself was just incredibly boring compared to Twilight Princess...

Honestly, this is a good cover up for all the idiots who won't know its a cover up .

Twilight Princess.

SS didn't appeal to me from E3.

Not my first Bnet account.

I liked Twilight Princess more because of it's darker theme. Majora's Mask is my favorite Zelda, and TP reminds me of it more than SS.

Terrible gimmicky controls for Skyward Sword made me only out about 4 hours into it then I have it back to my friend. I cannot stand accelrometer based controls. They are terrible.

In my opinion Twilight Princess is the best Zelda game of all time. It was an amazing experience playing it.

I was the same way, I got back into it and it does get better later into the game... at certain points... Like the 4th boss, third fight with girahim and last boss were kind of fun.

Silent realm challenges weren't fun though...

Doesn't sound like a lot of people voting have even played Skyward Sword. After having played both thoroughly, I would definitely say Skyward Sword is better. Music, Story, Gameplay, Uniqueness. It had a lot of improvements from Twilight.

Well tp was my favorite one so I'm going with it. I played the beginning of ss and it just didn't get anywhere. Also the base jumping part after winning the tournament was unnecessarily difficult to do.

Well, the sword controls in Skyward Sword are much better compared to Twilight Princess. However, I hated flying the loftwing or swimming using motion controls. I felt much more attached to the characters in Skyward Sword, but I prefer the darker story of Twilight Princess.

I like both game for different reasons. Its hard for me to pick which one is better because Zelda is my favorite series.

Nah, beat Skyward Sword 100%. It was fun don't get me wrong, I just found the level design, graphics, story, and ESPECIALLY soundtrack better in Twilight Princess.

yet.

Well Twilight Princess is up there with Wind Waker and Ocarina for me, and Skyward Sword really isn't.

Pretty much this, I would have also enjoyed skyward sword more had the controls been smoother, frigging bokoblins being able to change there block faster than I can change sword position.

The issue was that if you tryed to rapidly swing from the other side you'de end up swinging from the first side first so changing how you held your sword was a bit slow at times so you needed lighting reflexes.

The controls really can't be compared to twlight princess since they just took pressing the b button to swing your sword and replaced it with shaking your controller. I didn't like how it felt trying to get past a block in skyward sword.... frigging stalfos...

Especially agree on soundtrack. I mean, the main theme in Skyward Sword is nothing short of gorram amazing but Twilight Princes has so many incredibly epic pieces man

I haven't played OoT 3DS yet but I kind of wish it could have been a wii/wiiu release. Then it could have looked really sexy.

Guide to immortality : Sleep with Life

I had a pretty big time thread once.

Here's me bragging about it.

I've only played through the first dungeon in SS and I've completed TP, so maybe some bias....but a big reason why I have not continued SS is because of how much I've disliked it. From controls to the strange story....say what you want about TP and how it tried to hard to be OoT, but that's a lot better than creating something new based on a bird.

Nah that's basically higher difficulty and slightly better graphics. I'm talking real HD graphics, better animations, better cinamatics, etc. Basically what could they have improved on but couldn't do due to the limitations they had.

OMG i swear to god oot on the 3ds is the sexiest sexy youll ever think sexy. the 3d is nothing like lame ass cinema 3d, the 3d is amazing on that game and it looks great. Also, unlike 343, the fellas who made the remake actually kept the old art style when they upped the graphics.

Twilight Princess.

Yes, Skyward Sword had a good idea with making you actually control the sword. Only problem? The game is just so boring. It doesn't help that there are only really 4 hours, the main hub word, desert place, fire place and forest place. And the places themselves are just so boring to explore.

And the temples. Oh God another perfect make of boring. Twilight Princess, I found the temples to be interesting and fun to play through and figure out what to do. None of that in Skyward Sword.

Don't get the message yet? Skyward Sword is incredibly boring

  • 12.08.2012 3:37 AM PDT

Skyward Sword was awful, I finished it but it was a trial. They used motion controls for EVERYTHING, to the point where it just got incredibly annoying. Not to mention the ridiculous volume of fetch quests, a disjointed overworld and a story that was far too thinly spread throughout the game. The music wasn't great either. Only good parts were the art, and the swordfighting was fun at times.
