The symbols are good, but they might cause some religious problems...

No, Bungie does not need those symbols. You want those symbols. Two completely different things.

And I do not agree with the use of symbols representing organized religion, it is a bad idea. Keep online gaming free of that kind of thing thanks.

No duh, I know that's what I want, that is why I put a poll up. I am guessing the Yin Yang should be removed then? It came from Daoism...but you don't know that! About half the symbols don't directly relate to religion, they can be applied to all humans.

People like you, ruin the freedom of religion, you are the kind of people who want to suspend kids for praying in school, the kind of people who remove Ten Commandment statues, the kind of people who remove the word God or Gods from public buildings.

I think you mean Taoism.

But hey, I wouldn't know that right?

Actually I do, but it is Daoism also in American textbooks, and you should know that...but you don't. Do you? You how many different ways there are to spell Genghis Chan?

Anyway, you missed the entire point of what I was saying, so you made that pointless comment to look like you weren't making a hole for yourself.

Both of you. Stop this pointless arguement. I agree that SOME of those symbols are going to cause problems with SOME of the gaming community.

NOTE: I am a devout Christian, so I believe in the freedom of religion. I just don't want certain people sueing Bungie over nothing.

PS: The symbols do rock though.

Yes, I do agree. Sorry rhythm for the whole argument. But about half or more of these symbols are still legitemate for the Halo audience.

Well, what is written in an american textbook is as relevant to me as the closing value of the dow-jones makes to an indian elephant - especially when it concerns religion.

You are the one digging a hole - if you don't think there's enough abuse and hatred on xbox live already without throwing religion into the mix of prejudices, you're an idiot. I don't give a -blam!- what religion you are friend or how you want to wear it on your sleeve, it's your funeral - but you're a fool if you don't think this will cause trouble. The sandbox that is xbox live proves people are unable to be trusted, so the less fuel you give them for the fire, the better.

bungie r niec guy, he r dont do anything to u, he only gave away free beta codes is that so wrong? microsfot was all liek 'YO BUGNIE PUT UR COEDS INTO DIS BOX AND WE R PUT LOCK ON IT' and bungie was all like 'oooo okay :D' but little r bungie no, microsft r hav bad lock, and BADDD BADD people gots in and stole ALL beta codes D: now we dun has none left, if nething, blame microsoft 4 bad lockss and allow bad peoples to steel code

The flag ones could be used as backgrounds, unless the make an actual flag symbol. I haven't taken the time to look at the rest because, well, it's 8 in the morning. And I can see how some of these could cause trouble. I really don't want Christian stuff -unless it's coming from a marine- in XBL. I am a Christian myself but yeah.

There is no reason to be offended, when all religions have their symbols, but then again, there are arrogant stupid people in the wolrd that would take it offensive.

I can see what he means though. I mean, there would be certain objections from major religions concerning the ability to shoot and kill people adorned with crucifixes and Stars of David. I'm not saying this is my opinion, I was just throwing it out there.

Also, I think the yin-yan argument is slightly different because although it had its origins in Taoism it has since become a somewhat universal symbol for peace... Sort of ironic in Halo, I know, but anyway...

im not christian<---is that the correct spelling?

Halo's a hell of a drug.

Bungie doesn't like racial slurs. This would cause so many problems. Clans would be based on religion. There would be Jew killers and Muslim haters. The whole thing would be led by the Southern Baptist halo fans. Bad news for everyone. I says no to these symbols.

Quite a few of those are religeous symbols, and that could lead to some trouble. Like someone could make a GT called "Terrorist" and use the Islam symbol.

The Hazard symbols are cool, but still, like someone said, there would be controversy with the religious ones :(
