Incomprehensible gibberish.

It had a fantastic story and immersion but it was horrid in just about everything that makes it a game. The gameplay itself, was horrid and clunky. The graphics are, while nice, still only average and do little to make anybody look in awe. And overall, it felt more like an interactive story as oppossed to an actual game. Hell, I would've been more content with Halp4 winning it because it does have fantastic visuals and gameplay. I honestly think /v/ rigged the whole thing.

Anybody else think it shouldn't have won GOTY?

Neither did any other game there more than The Walking Dead.

The most dangerous gunslinger in the west.

Then what did? I find Telltales's route of actually creating a emotionally investing game quite admirable, when most other developers would of just created a poorly made, cash-out zombie shooter.

I like how your sub box is full of science and political videos but your recommendations are full of anime girls kissing each other.

I agree. Terrible game.

I used to be indecisive, but now i'm not sure.

It was a point and click game with nothing more than pointing and clicking, gone are the puzzles that usually go hand in hand with the genre.
That's what bugged me. Puzzles would really add that gameplay factor you mentioned.

Oh, as for the cell shaded graphics, it is supposed to resemble Robert Kirkman's comic book.
[picture for reference]
Which it does quite nicely.

All that I said was fact. It had great story but clunky controls. The visuals are also nothing compared to halo 4's or blops 2. And why would I be taking vidyas seriously? It's not like I sent a letter to spike's hq and death threats to telltale. I'm just ranting on a forum.

Spike always hands out a few awards to games that generate TV ratings or celebrity appearances. For instance, 50 cent won an award for his game a few years.

The problem is that it isn't much of a game. It told a great story but there really wasn't much "gameplay". I would have thought an actual game would have won GOTY which is really anything but the Walking Dead.

Personally? Borderlands 2. It literally improved every aspect from the first one and offered a moderate storyline while backing it up with solid controls and graphics.

"gameplay".

I thought this used to be a major criteria for games? Or should developers start making interactive novels instead?

I look forward to seeing what books will be nominated for Game of the Year next year.

You know who I am.

I agree. Any one of the other games deserved the award more. My girlfriend and I were both shocked when they called Walking Dead as the winner.

How the hell did they win?

I agree that it shouldn't be GOTY. Sure, it may have a good story and characters but there's no replay value or multiplayer or coop or anything like that.

  • 12.07.2012 8:32 PM PDT

I like to play Reach for fun. I hate MLG, campers, armor lock, and team killers because they ruin that fun. Deal with it.
