Subject: Have you read The Hobbit?

I know, right?
Jay acts like she's better than everyone else simply because she's a chick.
I hope she chokes to death.

I've read it several times. It's one of my favourite stories. I actually prefer the somewhat intimate, conversational storytelling style to the more epic, distant storytelling of the LotR books. I am so psyched for the movie.

All that is needed for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing.

Nope.

Yes, while still a decent fantasy book it falls way short of the LoTR books, the book feels almost juvenile compared to those books. And it in no way deserved 3 freaking movies even with adding in backstories from the Return of the King Appendices.

We all wear masks and the time comes when we cannot remove them without removing our own skin.

I read it in 4th grade and loved it. So many many years ago...

If I ever see anyone post in a thread "That's your opinion", I immediately lose all respect for them.

Also, if you're discussing a topic with me and you resort to name calling, pull "life checks", or just call anything you don't agree with retarded without giving legitimate reasons, don't expect me to take you serious in anyway what so ever.

Yea, I read it back around the time "The Fellowship of the Ring" premiered and got really into the universe. Even started to read The Silmarillion, but didn't like it as much.

Key

Nope. But my 5-year-old cousin is reading it right now.

It's a decent book at best. The genre is incredibly moronic and a mess of fantasy cliches.
Cliches? Tolkien is the source. Are you calling the archetype derivative? lol

Years ago I read it, shortly after I saw the Fellowship of the Ring in theaters. I'm curious to see how far Jackson stretches the story in the movie.

Nope, but I plan on it.

Now that you've taken the time to look at my sig, I actually regret not providing you with something more worthwhile.

Only once and it was years ago. Should probably do a quick re-read before the movie comes out. The film looks fantastic.

There are those who said this day would never come. What have they to say now?

I read a graphic Novel when i was like 10/11 or something, and since ive read the actual novel twice.

I've read basically every one of Tolkien's Middle Earth books. No regrets.

Quick as a razor, sharp as a bullet.

It was over 10 year ago, so I don't remember much.

It was part of my reading path that got me into writing.

My troll sense is tingling.

I've read it and honestly prefer it over Lord of The Rings. The former tried to tell a story while the latter focused on too many irrelevant details.
