Subject: Okay, I know blogging is frowned upon, but what about....

Is in site Drama a No No also? I came into the thread and read the OP, however the OP was reported and I have absolutely no idea why. I tried asking but I am still waiting on a serious answer. I honestly don't see how OP's post was rule breaking in any way. Can someone fill in the gaps for me here?

“Oh, it’s a little bit of everything, it’s the mountains, it’s the fog, it’s the news at six o’clock, it’s the death of my first dog, it’s the angels up above me, it’s the song that they don’t sing, It’s a little bit of everything.”

Some people do not know how to handle other people in a respectful manner. They may use the tools are their disposal to simply become tools, rather than actually contribute. The issue here is people, not rules; that thread had purpose, while some may call it attention-whoring or whatever, all that had to be done was to ignore it.

It seems there are many who lack ability to ignore what bothers them.

I kind of figured that it was the people and not the rules. That's why I asked if internet drama can lead to bans.

Perhaps not the drama itself, but rather a users response--flaming, harassment, being a jerk, etc.

That thread is calling out an individual member from the forums. There's actually a rule on calling people out or making threads about individuals.

As someone who's been the subject of several threads, I stand by as an avid supporter of that rule.

Unless it's about Foman's mom.

Only after we ban Bricypoo.

People probably thought it came across as a "blog type thread". Personally, I wouldn't say it is necessarily against the rules... But anything personal like that I would not recommend posting in The Flood. I mean come on, it is The Flood, you are going to be heavily flamed. I always thought anything about relationships/relationship advice if serious in anyways should be done in private groups rather than The Flood.

Actually that rule was taken out quite some time ago, unless they put it back in. Last I knew we had the ability to, as long as it wasn't negative towards them.

Gara, I made a thread exactly like this the last time that THING made a thread.

They think it's funny. This is why I and plenty of others hate Harlow so much. He and his -blam!- do this -blam!- and thinks it's cute.

You don't seem very up to date on things.

That thread was reported because the flood hates attention whores, the end. Was it a justified report? Not really, but it happened.

I think it was taken out when everything was simplified and mainly pointed to the ToU and CoC. The general idea still stands, mainly under the "harassment" clause.

Yes, but it isn't "harassment" if you are talking positively about them. Unless I'm missing something...

Hell, we're both missing something, I'm sure.

I've seen several threads akin to that (no, I don't have an example. I don't save every locked thread for the sake of a future argument) that do get locked.

People don't like jay. They also don't like her making a thread that was clearly to brag about her 18 month relationship and then tacked on a "how long was your longest relationship?" at the end for discussion value (if you can call it that, in all reality it's the same exact thing as "post your join date" in that people make a post, and then leave).

It's a -blam!- blog post disguised as a thread. I would've reported it too if it wasn't superfluous to do so by now.

In a time long past, the armies of the dark came again to the lands of men. Their leaders became known as the fallen lords, and their terrible sorcery was without equal in the west.
In 30 years they reduced the civilized nations into carrion and ash. Until the free city of Madrigal alone defined them. An army gathered there, and a desperate battle was joined against the fallen
Heros were born in the fire and bloodshed of the wars which followed and their names and deeds will never be forgotten

I think she should be banned. her topic has no discussional value and is meant to cause a controversial thread.

That part right there! I'm seeing a lot of this. Where is all this hate for two people coming from? Do they hate Jay for making blogs threads? People do that on The Flood every ten minutes, what makes hers worse than others?

There really needs to be something done about her/their -blam!-posting. Since this is a dictatorship, there can be no democratic powers used to simply shut down the thread. It's up to the admins and the mods, and I personally think the mods are laughing their asses off right now. Ugh.

In the end, Harlow's face goes here.

This is exactly why threads like hers cannot work.

Other users get salty over things, like being permabanned from private groups.

I personally found her topic to be mis formatted, calling too much attention to her own relationship rather than the discussion of relationship lengths.

Topic: I've been in a relationship for 18 months
Body: Woo I've been dating this guy for a year and a half go me i'm so awesome. Have I been in a relationship longer than you?

At the end of the day, It doesn't really matter. Let the mods handle it. If you're confused or something, just move onto another thread.

(Actually, the reason most people reported it is probably because they're lonely and jealous of someone announcing that they're in a stable relationship, so want to tell them to go away)
