You got me pre-edit, so I guess you deserve a response.

Her questions were:

ITT: are you in a relationship? If so, how long's it been going? What has been your longest relationship to date?

Those look like reasonable questions. Not only that, they look like a bit more than just:
Part B of that thread: Post your longest relationship.

I suggest that next time you actually read the thread before grabbing the torches and pitchforks. At the very last, cast your bias aside about a certain forum and look before you leap to complaining about that forum and its regulars for the umpteenth time.

That suggestion applies to more than just you, by the way.

The Joyeuse IP Formula

This is beautiful and nothing hurts.

Anyways, I'm old and years behind you kids. I've never really had it be an issue for me, since I don't care about anyone enough to make a thread about them. And when something is made about me, well, it's usually posting my personal information or a rant about getting friendzoned.

For the record, I don't know the couple personally. Hell, I didn't even know that Jay was a fellow lady.

Edit: Scratch that, nevermind because I predict that discussion will be akin to arguing with a brick wall.
BRICK WALL REPORTING

"- Do not use the public forums to run contests, solicit donations, barter or sell items/services, or advertise anything at all (except on-topic posts in the Classifieds forum)."
Obviously advertising their relationship

"- Use common sense. This is a video game developer's website. Keep your posts on-topic and "safe for work". The further you stray the more you'll tempt a ban."
OBVIOUSLY not safe for work.

"- Do not post false information or mislead other forum-goers. Yes, even if it is funny."
Did the OP account for the Leap Year?

"- New threads should encourage a discussion among the community; please be mindful of that when you create threads."
ABSOPOSITIVELUTELY no discussion value!

Great, now we have two large threads dedicated to this -blam!-.

If her thread isn't rule-violating, then what about those circumcision threads Foman likes to lock because they always result in the same thing that's happening in the threat at hand?

Hmmm...

This is where we agree to disagree. Tomato-Jackdaniels, so to speak.

Why don't you ask foman instead of talking about it here? Nothing wrong with good ol metadiscussions.

Moderator discretion...it's a wonderful thing. I'd rather read a thread about relationships than your dick.

lol I post in The Flood all the time. Your idea of how I feel about it is outdated (if only a little).

Also, okay, so a model response for that thread is:

Yes. 4 months. 1 year.

Is that it? It's still the equivalent of posting relationship stats. There is an inherent difference between "What's your longest relationship?" and "What do you think about relationships?"

One prompts a single response, the other prompts discussion.

Also, this has nothing to do with how I feel about The Flood. It's about this specific thread and threads like it. I'm sorry if anything I posted presently or in the past could have been misconstrued to make it seem like any forum bias I have was influencing this opinion. It is not, I assure you.

If you want to contribute the bare minimum to a discussion, that's hardly the OP's fault. Especially since you're offering it to fit your current narrative.

Nah, jaythenerdkid attracts drama in every post in the mains. It's probably because of her somewhat smug attitude about Harlow and Sapphire(or that she's a girl). People usually hate her for one of the three, and in that thread she fulfilled two of those requirements in the OP, leading to a royal -blam!-storm. I daresay the OP was trying to provoke an argument. I sure wish she'd show more discretion in making threads to prevent all this drama(which has happened before), but who am I to talk?

"Living to smile, and not to succeed; smiling to inspire happiness, not to give the illusion you are happy; creativity and music to inspire smiling, which in turn inspires happiness; being nice to be happy, not for being perceived a good person."

Twas a fun thread, at least to me.

I may have come out as an ass, albeit unintentionally, but I at least attempted to contribute in my own way.

You say the OP was collapsed because people reported it......When I clicked that link the OP wasn't collapsed. Did they finally fix it so mods can uncollapse a post or did I just make that glitch up?

*sigh*

OK. So the discussion is legitimate. I've just had a look at the thread and people are discussing relationships in general. While it's outside the direct scope of the initial question, it's legitimate discussion. I still don't believe the practice of tacking on discussion to the end of a blog post is good practice, and that it should be discouraged, but if you wanna draw up a tally, give yourself a chalk-mark on this one, TU.

Clappity. Clap. Clap. Clap.

(Is that better for you? Now that you win am I legitimate discussion-haver? I didn't think it was so easy! All I had to do was go into the discussion with one opinion, leave with the opposite opinion, and I'm a good discussion-haver! Who needs opinions when you can just use other people's?! NOT ME!)
