"Two things are infinite, the universe and human stupidity, and I'm not sure about the universe." - Albert Einstein

So, with all of the uproar about no Destiny reveal at the VGA's (I'm happier that it happened this way, if they would have revealed their game alongside that smut I would've cried, a lot.) when do YOU (yes, you. Not me, not the first poster, YOU. YOU!) think that we'll see a reveal!

January 1st, 2013.

It only makes sense. They did say "See you starside 2013".

As I said earlier, the release of Destiny is to coincide with the release of Evangelion: FINAL, which is never.

2013 reveal, 2014 release.

  • 12.07.2012 9:06 PM PDT

In a time long past, the armies of the dark came again to the lands of men. Their leaders became known as the fallen lords, and their terrible sorcery was without equal in the west.
In 30 years they reduced the civilized nations into carrion and ash. Until the free city of Madrigal alone defined them. An army gathered there, and a desperate battle was joined against the fallen
Heros were born in the fire and bloodshed of the wars which followed and their names and deeds will never be forgotten

I know Ken, I know, but it is looking more and more likely.

Unless Bungie pulls a pretentious "we are better than everyone and don't need a major event to announce our game" move and just announce it on their website in early 2013, which would be kind of dumb.

I fail to see how that is "pretentious". If anything, it's smart. Start letting loose when no one else can take away from the effectiveness of your announcement. Rockstar does it all the time. GTA V was just fleshed out recently, and it got tons of buzz that might've been drowned out somewhat at E3.

Can we just stop these threads in general? All this crazy speculation is useless.

I don't walk in to your home and call you useless!

Hmph!

On topic on my own topic, I agree. I think it'd be smart to release independently. If you were a lesser-known company, maybe you'd have a better shot at a large scale convention, but now I think independence is the way to go.

Well depending on your definition of darkness and the marketing campaign type, it would technically only be 1 year of darkness at most.

Poor choice of words. Not "useless", just... unfounded. Pardon me, good sir. I meant no offense.

It is the year 40,000 and there is no Destiny

  • 12.08.2012 12:19 AM PDT

It's gonna release fall of 2013... it's part of their contract. Who really cares when it's announced?

  • 12.08.2012 12:22 AM PDT

This is the way the world ends,
This is the way the world ends,
This is the way the world ends;
Not with a bang but a whimper.

I'm still sticking with this being a sociological experiment. How long with a group stay together based on a false premise and hope? But Valve already did that with Half Life 3. Start being original Bungie.

  • 12.08.2012 12:23 AM PDT

Lurking these forums, rest assured that I'm silently judging you.

At least until Destiny.

I think that Bungie have become so well-known that they could easily just announce it on B.net or maybe, with the help of Activision, make an event of their own.
If they revealed at something like the VGAs or E3, they would be in direct competition with other games, but they would get a larger audience there. It's all a risk-reward thing.

Personally, I want Bungie to take their time with this game, because it will set the premise for the trilogy they plan to make. Wouldn't want to mess it up. At a guess though, I'd say they'd announce sometime in the second half of 2013.

Halo: Tactical

I'm either a fool or an inteligent man, depending on how sleepy or angry I am.

I originaly made an account on 07.27.2007 but I wanted to link my GT and made this account. Don't forget your passwords!

We will see a reveal in 2013, that is a fact.

I wonder if Destiny is the next half Life 3

Ugh...

First on a BWU.. yeah, I'm cool.

ODST;MYTHIC Screenshot winner! One of the first to get their hands on the mythic map pack.

I was thinking January 1st or sometime relatively soon to January 1st. New year brings new things. Bungie.next, Destiny Reveal, Destiny forum. What a way to bring in the new year don't you think?

That's what I think anyways.
