Haha. This guy over here. We are a lot alike. I like the journey and you don't care much for the journey but the ending. Oh wait...
No, no, don't worry, we are much alike. I almost never care for the ending to a game, I've had quite a few blockbusters spoiled for me, and I just shrug it off. Playing through the game is always better.

However, with that said, it still nags in the back of your mind. You know that nothing you are doing right now matters, so why should you even continue?

It won't make or break a game for me, but it does bug me.

Why, hello there.

I wasn't aware that Reach introduced any new enemies.

"So- So this means Im just going to be miserable for the rest of time?!"

"No. This means that you have to live life to the fullest. You have one life, live it well. Make sure you die without regrets. Get a new life, new mate, new family. You, out of all people, don't deserve a terrible fate of misery like that. Having nothing to look forward to is good. It makes sure you want to keep on going. Living is a right, not a privilege."

I thought this was established once the trailer came out last year(or was it this year?). GOW is becoming like Halo. Its pulling a Reach.

Halo Reach had a new enemy?
U could say engineers. Skirmishers went extinct though so idk what OP is talking about.
...Exactly what I'm talking about.

Halo: Reach introduced Skrimishers. An enemy that had never been spoken of or referenced at any point in time. Same with brutes, really. From what i had understood, brutes were never on the ground or had much to do with reach.

With GOW, the big baddies had always been Locust. After playing 3 campaigns of locust locust locust, I really don't want them to introduce a new locust that's entirely badass yet never spoken of in the future

oh well.
Skirmishers went extinct on reach that's why. Bungie said this awhile ago.

Gamertag - Rdog 11

Call me Rdog, not RdOG or RdOG1507. I made that username when I thought it was cool to use alternating capital and lowercase letters...

It looked just like Gears of War 3 from the video they showed in the VGAs

And?

The Kryll were taken out from every iteration of the game after Gears 1. The only time we saw them again was during RAAM's Shadow. Why would it be surprising for a new enemy to be featured and killed off within the prequel?

I think we're having some communication issues here.

After playing Halo: CE, Halo 2, Halo 3, ODST and reading a few books without ANY mention of 'skrimishers' or how they went extinct- It was facepalm-inducing to have that reason used as a means to introduce a new, relatively worthless unneeded enemy.

An invading force went extinct after an invasion? Well that makes sense. It's not like Reach didn't get glassed by the Covenant and all you know.

Putting all the hate aside, I do believe thanks to Skirmishers Firefight matches went on quicker, as they ran at you as soon as they spawned instead of walking towards you like any other Covenant Species.

And Drones in FF were just lame.

A7x FoREVer!

I don't think its a new enemy, but a different leader for the Locust.

Except that the Kryll were explicitly driven to extinction after the lightmass bomb went off.

Really? No way I never knew.

/sarcasm

My point still stands, if there's a species introduced, and killed off due to some story driven reason then why should it matter?

  • 12.07.2012 10:05 PM PDT

Well, you're here. We have much to discuss.

As long as they don't forget to put Kryll in, I'm fine. I would hate to see a prequel to the series without those things in it.

  • 12.07.2012 10:20 PM PDT

After the shafting Baird and Cole got in 3; I'm tempted to buy it just so I can actually see the characters.

My problems [with Reach] are basically just full parties, mlg, and people who go out of their way not to get killed.

I loved Reach's "They all died" excuse concerning the Skirmishers.

I don't even care, skirmishers are -blam!- awesome.

You high, bro?

Skirmishers are even more annoying than Drones.

Skirmishers are as fun as being forced to eat concrete at gunpoint. Especially with the wrist shields.

-blam!- pricks.

If I ever get AIDS, I'm going to sleep with another AIDS person so my AIDS cancel each other out, or I'm going to make the AIDS I already have worse.

Wait what, can someone send me a link?

The world is not beautiful: And that, in a way, lends it a sort of beauty.

~Kino's Journey

I guess it means the new enemy will be wiped out during the game, seems silly to introduce then remove whatever it is(haven't seen the trailer yet) in one game.

Major props to my hommie Sheeef. He made Recon possible for me. Long time recovering emails and passwords. And it was his. lol.

I'm very confused.
Are you serious???
Wow.
I still plan on getting it. But this sounds dumb.

That trailer looked so goddamned meh.

I had to convince myself to buy Gears of War 3, I seriously don't know about judgement. I think it might be a rent to play single player.

Ignore my gamertag. It's actually Dragonzzilla.

Seeing how Karn invaded Halvo Bay, which is just one place, a lot of people wouldn't know about him.
