I remember the first Metal Gear Solid on ps1 being an awesome, open world espionage simulator.

I watched a full playthrough recently and was surprised to find out it's pretty much exactly like MGS4. Nostalgia goggles man.

MGS was always good at making the game feel less linear than it actually was, but damn is it linear after I played through it again. At least the story was good.

Does anyone else agree? Disagree?

Seriously though, a lot of people on youtube were agreeing with the walkthrough I was watching, watching the walkthrough for MGS1 is exactly like watching a movie. There is no difference.

Is that a bad thing?

If I ever see anyone post in a thread "That's your opinion", I immediately lose all respect for them.

Also, if you're discussing a topic with me and you resort to name calling, pull "life checks", or just call anything you don't agree with retarded without giving legitimate reasons, don't expect me to take you serious in anyway what so ever.

It has an awesome story. I still haven't got a chance to play MGS4 because I don't have a PS3, but I would love to. I did buy the MGS HD collection recently though. Worth every penny. Snake Eater is such a good game. Forgot how bad the camera angles in 2 are though.

I feel like Playstation players always get the more emotive games out there. Final Fantasies, the Tales series, the DMC series, the Metal Gear Solid series, games like Shadow of the Colossus and all other kinds of japanese game/movie hybrids.

Playstation fans get the feels mang.

Metal Gear Solid 1-3 are brilliant games. Metal Gear Solid 4 is the interactive movie. Apart from Chapter 3, that chapter is horrible.

What was chapter 3 again? The one where snake gets his scar right and liquid reveals his secret weapon?

I think it's the one you follow that guy around for majority of the thing. He leads you to somewhere.
I don't remember the specifics.

MGS1 was an interactive movie. MGS2 might as well be too.
