Subject: To anyone who was dissappointed by ME3

A cornered fox is more dangerous than a jackal.

And from FOX, two phantoms were born.

Is there any interest left for you in the series?

Would you still give the next game a shot?

Rain, and Jazz.

My troll sense is tingling.

Possibly but I'm not gonna be throwing money at it.

While ME3 did disappoint me I am still interested in the lore, so maybe.

This world wants to drag you down... And the weight, that guilt they want to hang around your neck, you don’t have to carry it one more step. You think they won’t let you rest, but it’s not up to them. It never was.

I'm still somewhat interested. Whether I buy the next game depends on its own merits though.

^ 10/10

I probably wont buy it at launch.
I'll wait for a general reaction to it first before making my decision.

I eat my milk...

...without any milk.

I was disappointed in the ending, not the game as a whole. I still hold a fair amount of interest in the series.

Anyone who was actually disappointed with ME3 must be emotionally screwed or something. You can't go through that whole amazing experience and then think it all sucks because it ended badly. At least they fixed it. I mean, how many developers would actually do that? Most of them would just be like screw you. So Bioware is still pretty community-focused in my books but just has to have a little less suck as of late.

Pumped for the next DLC.

Whilst ME3 was a bit of a letdown to me, I still love the ME Universe. So when I see the trailer to the next game I am going to be throwing my money at the screen.

I used to love Mass effect to death until ME3 utterly killed all my interest in the series. Unless its not done by Bioware I refuse to buy another ME game.

Even though Mass Effect 3 was bad in nearly every aspect, I still love the series and will probably give ME4 a chance.

I don't really see the big deal with the endings. Sure, they weren't fantastic, but they weren't garbage either. It's like people hyped up ME3 so much that if it wasn't a 10/10 then it failed.

It was a fantastic game and anyone who says otherwise solely because of the ending is an idiot. Borderlands also had a godawful ending, but I never saw anyone complaining about that. In fact everyone hails it as a great game.

  • 12.08.2012 6:56 AM PDT

Just remember that no matter how terrible you feel, or how much you want to let go, there are people who care about you and love you.

Wort, wort, wort!

The whole games writing was terribly, terribly, bad. Uncomparable to ME1. ME2 was a step in the wrong way, and gameplay wise it was a bit corrected in ME3, but still... ME3 was the most rushed out game in the series. Had they waited for a few months and polished it up more AND had actual writers instead of retards who don't know HOW to end a story.. no.
The first game had great story/plot and character writing, the second game had only good character writing and the third one.. well it only had good characters because they were established before. Quite a lot of the game was bull-blam!-, it was extremely linear compared to other games and nowhere near ME1. So yeah, no, not getting any more Mass Effect ever. Also that ending fix didn't fix most -blam!-.

I change shapes just to hide in this place but im still im still an animal...

Even though it was one of my favorite series ever next to the likes of halo, metroid, half life, no. The ending was that bad for me, made everything feel completely and utterly pointless.

The most important part of a story is the ending; its not alien to let a bad ending ruin a great story for you. That's besides the fact that the writing in ME3 was just terrible beyond belief. The only part that seems like it wasn't written by a retarded dyslexic monkey was Mordins death scene.

It didn't even feel like a Mass effect game it felt like EA just made it themselves and had the rest of the money go into CGI trailers.

People expected way more than what we got. The EC tried to fix all the plot holes, and didn't succeed. The entire final mission is just crap, since it's completely generic and full of moments that make no sense whatsoever (such as the random turret scene at the wall). The entire game is spent gathering War Assets, and no matter what you did in the entire game, in the final mission, none of that will show itself. At all.

So, not only does nothing you do in ME3 (yet alone the previous games) even change anything in the game, it also has no bearing on the ending itself since they're all the same (even Control vs Synthesis...the changes aren't that much; just a little dialogue and visual changes).

I don't think this means people are emotionally screwed. They're just disappointed how Bioware failed on such an epic scale at the end.

edit: Not to mention all the lies Bioware told pre-release when the game was gold that got everyone pumped up; only to find out that none if happened.

I will agree that EA hasn't been good for the series, there has been a lot of missed chances... In ME3 at least, the whole thing was corprationalized a lot, if you know what I mean. The amount of cut content and pre-order -blam!- was unbelievable.

It still doesn't change the emotional journey I had in ME3, though. I almost blasted through the entire game in a few sittings, wrapping up all these stories that were building up over the years. The ending, I dunno. I liked it, honestly. The basic concept of it was simple; who do you agree with in the context of the Reapers? Anderson, TIM, or hell even all that synthesis -blam!- Saren blabbed on about. The fact that nothing was explained pissed me off though, and the godchild at the end of the game.

But EC? Fixed the ending. Leviathan? The godchild clearly isn't a godchild and has context. And well, I just loved seeing Omega again.

So yeah, you could say I love ME3 and I know I'm not alone, I just hate to see so many people judge the whole thing for a few little mishaps and trips by EA. It's still Bioware dammit :(
