On the other hand, accessibility could mean a better explanation of game systems. For example, they could explain what Humanity does for new players. They won't be forced to experiment so much, and we'll still have the brutal difficulty we love. I doubt they'll casualize this game; they know why fans respect the series and they won't ruin it.
On the one hand, I completely agree. They do need to explain certain things better. But, on the other hand, part of the game's challenge stems from no explanation and the spirit of mystery and exploration that arises from it.
Moving the game to a more linear story with more gameplay explanations could be detrimental to the difficulty and overall atmosphere of the game. Ultimately, I think the team is going to succeed. The alterations from Demon Souls to Dark Souls were an improvement and their online has always been something the rest of the industry needs to look at for their games. I think we're in safe hands.
I agree that explaining systems to the point where there's no room for experimentation or discovery would be a serious mistake; but at the same time, I know people who would have enjoyed the Souls series, but got frustrated by the lack of direction and explanation. In Dark Souls, even figuring out where to go next could be a challenge. I personally loved the discoverym and I liked NOT having constant information thrown in my face. But that's probably not true for everyone, and if they want to make more sales, they'll have to draw in a larger audience.
