Subject: Technology is making good music harder to find.

Does anyone else that too many songs are being made, almost anyone can make a song today, therefore the ones that are actually good a buried in thousands of bad ones.

There's a “U” and “I” in union but just an “I” in my beliefs

It's also making music better too.

"Good" is a relative term that means different things to different people. Variety on the other hand applies to all. Whether or not you perceive "good" from variety is another story.

Large quantities don't necessarily imply poor quality. I've actually found many songs that I enjoy regardless of the quantity.

I will own everyone in Halo: Reach

Agreed.

Octavia is best pony.

There have always been terrible songs and terrible song-writers in abundance. The only difference is now they're easier to find.

Agreed, but for different reasons. Technology makes it easier for big record companies to shove their dubstep-rap-pop trash down our collective throat, and harder to find good bands like Rebel Sonhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FyLY_-xUq_8 and Highlonesome https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qq1fDiW1MUk

Unreal, isn't it?

No. Use Pandora or Last.fm or any of the other sites. Technology opens music up to everyone and lets everyone make music, which allows more genius to make it through. We aren't stuck with just the acts that the labels think will sell.

If you like previous musical eras more than today's, a quick Google search can let you hear it.

Not only, but "good" is subjective.

And if you think all music sucks today, you're either not looking for songs off of your local R&B station or just unsatisfiable.

"Ignorance is a plague."

Close, but the plague killed those infected with it, and the ignorant are still alive.
I wish ignorance was a plague.

No. Instead of having to try records almost at random, hoping that you aren't wasting money, you can try a ton of music and see if it's good or not.

Challenge me to a Hawaiian Punch chugging contest. I dare you.

$.50 in store credit.

Not at all. The way i see it, the exact opposite is happening. You're probably just looking in the wrong places.

Anybody can do it. Even if they are really terrible. Deadmau5 and Skrillex for example.

Yes, I know my username is the 330th sequel to a terrible movie. You don't have to keep telling me.

Whatever you say...

Well, all I hear are the same songs over again. I would have to type in something random and see if the song is good.

My Screenshots / My Group / Remember to follow the rules or you will get trapped in a box.

Just because something is made on a computer it doesn't mean it's bad. Yes some songs are just auto tune and the same beat or words getting repeated over and over, but there are still good songs. If we went by the logic that everything made on a computer is bad then video games would be stupid, flash animations, internet and many other things. My opinions on dubstep; are that it can sometimes drag on too long. I do find some dubstep that doesn't drag on.

shake a big enough pile of -blam!- and eventually a few gold nuggets rise to the top.

There's a word for what I am, but I can't pronounce it.

BFA, CCS - olde and bony & one minute musings.

I'd say this last decade's software and hardware leap has streamlined ALL music. If you're taking advantage of the apps/search engines out there, "good" discovery is super accessible.

Ppppppppppttttt... ppppppptt....

I'm an Indonesian Halo (and other games) gamer!
Bhineka Tunggal Ika!!

Nah, it's exactly the opposite IMO.

Sometimes I found a good song from the Recommended Videos, from radio, etc etc

If you're a zombie and you know it, bite your friends.

The Flood Theory of Deterioration: q(p)=(qi)e^(-p/r)

Where q(p) is the quality of the thread as a function of p posts, (qi) is the inital quality of the first post, p is the amount of posts and r is the e-peen of the original poster.

The Piano Guys are awesome.

Also OP I disagree. It's made good music easier to find, because there are so many ways to search for it now. Granted I remember when cassettes were the dominant medium.

The human element always mucks things up.

I actually believe it's the opposite.
