I enjoyed halo 4 for about 2-3 weeks with friends. But, I switched back to reach and the rest of the halos.

Why is there so much attention given to population numbers? If that is the only factor a player considers, then why even bother with the lesser titles? Go play Black Ops II while you can, the next CoD is around the corner...

"the next CoD is around the corner" ... true enough. The whole thread is a little pointless. You are correct, COD rules, reach is a distant afterthought ... pointless debate.

Their* both absolutely horrendous but Halo 4 is miles worse than Reach imo.

*They're.
LOOK OUT! GRAMMAR -blam!-.

On topic: Technically Reach as it is now is good. Prior friggin' bloom and armor lock just killed everything. Bloom decreased, but I mostly play Reach for MLG gametype which has 0 bloom, and the maps are 4x better than H4, plus sniping, vehicles are overpowered. You can snipe twice as easy than prior games in Halo.

U Wot m8

I enjoy reach far more than halo 4. Any version of TU reach is a lot funner to play.

I'd rather play default reach over H4 because h4 gets super stale after 2 games. I haven't played it in over a month because of the lack of aiming skill gap, awful maps, AA made even more retarded (jetpack at least isnt as -blam!-).

The only thing I like H4 over reach is the movement (much smoother).

I'm not the only one who feels this way. H4 can be good but the s.hit piled on it makes it awful in its current state.

First Ever Post:

The heavy divide in fans between Halo Reach and Halo 4 is predictable... but the reasons are still disturbing.

I'd like to first state that I've beaten the campaign and extensively played the multiplayer of Halo: Combat Evolved, Halo 2, Halo 3 & ODST, Halo Reach, AND Halo 4 and that every single one of these games are ambitious and great fun in their own ways for their own reasons.

Nonetheless, I will admit that I favor Halo Reach (and perhaps Halo 2 if I'm feeling nostalgic).

I feel like my reasons are simple, but by contrast, the reasons I'm hearing for why Halo 4 is superior to Reach are ludicrously trivial and not conducive to actually having fun:

"Halo 4 prevails because it's AR and shotgun are good"
"I enjoy Halo 4 more then Reach. I was never a big fan of bloom."
"Reach is worse. A few noobs think otherwise, but the mass number of online players kinda kill their view."

Really? A couple weapons function slightly more to your liking? It looks a little too bright? Everyone else is jumping off a cliff, so why don't you?

Pff. What an idiot I was! And here I was judging both games on ALL their differences!

Like the major balance changes of a different control scheme, removing damage de-scoping, and adding first-person killcams!

The addition of a third variant of weapons, orbital drops, and customizable loadouts and perks!

A brand new shift of focus in Slayer from kills to points in which victory is based on specifically how you performed in a match as opposed to the bodycount you racked up!

And I haven't even touched on the significantly more complex differences in the campaign modes yet!

You're telling me my judgment could be easily reduced to: "Not as much bloom as Reach = Better than Reach"?

Phew! That's a lot off my mind! Why was I trying to be fair and even-handed to both titles when I could just throw up my hands and go "Shotguns are better! Argument over!"

...Oh yeah. Cause that would make me a jackass.

Seriously people, where's the reasonable give and take? Why can't we say we like both?

As far as I can tell, Halo: CE was, if nothing else, a landmark game. Halo 2 improved upon it in nearly every way. Halo 3 commanded some impressive new features at an occasional expense. And Halo Reach was the final risky refinement to the classic formula, though with it's own hits and misses, it successfully encapsulated the over-arching theme: to go out with a bang.

Halo 4 is... different. There's a distinctly different driver behind the wheels and the whole game feels more like a caricature of the Halo series than an actual installment. Nonetheless it is still a very good game in it's own right, plainly made by the fans who played it.

I will gladly concede to that much, but I'm sick of hearing about some comparatively miniscule detail of the game summarizing the entire reason why it's superior or inferior.

I positively HATE the Halo 4 armor aesthetic because they look like a naked dummy just superglued tuperware containers to themselves and then spraypainted themselves in solid colors. All of the spartans look like they have vestigial wings for -blam!-'s sake!

Even so, I'm not stupid enough to present that as THE REASON Reach is better than Halo 4.

Exercise some fair judgment people. And while you're at it, remember: First and foremost, video games exist to provide entertainment. If you don't know this or want to accept this, you should not be playing Halo in the first place... let alone video games.

Butt ugly ape” remarked Sergeant Johnson always making fun out of the situation even though he had been hit by a spiker round in the arm. He mustered up the strength to continue and the team moved on. The Arbiter informed him that the next room held The Prophet of Truth and this was the final room before extraction. Jun proposed that he takes a shot from a distance the prophet and they all head back to the ship bay for extraction. The team agreed on this and breached the last door…

Stealing this from Recon I think:

I'll be honest with you, I like Halo 4 but Reach was more addicting. Plus I miss forge world.

H4 > lolVanillaReach

I hear NBNS Reach is better than default H4 but I can't really say, never played it much.

H4 needs better maps and quite a few fixes...... and less 6v6-8v8 maps... moar 4v4
8v8 is where it's at. Halo needs to make BTB maps exclusively and then just forge them a little bit for the rest of you guys.

=D

Hey, B.net

Anyways, "invest in realestate, always eat breakfast, all the chicks on the internet are ACTUALLY DUDES, and never buy the extended warrenty on anything, EVER !"

-Tuckers little accident

Yes, the only thing 4 had on reach was the campaign.

Go play Black Ops II ... the next CoD is around the corner...

^ this.

Blops2 currently untouchable at #1.
(hell, more people play in it least-popular playlist than play in all of H4 and reach's playlists).

COD currently hold 40% of the top ten titles.
And as the OP said, another is due soon ... and it is a sure bet to fall straight into position #1 or 2. Suspect H4 will drop down to position 5 or 6 ... and reach off the bottom of the chart.

Reach or Halo 4 ... both are going to drop.
