Subject: Would you go as far to say that Games are getting worse?

"You are the last of your kind: bred for combat, built for war. You're the master of any weapon, pilot of any vehicle, and fear no enemy"

All I hear about games(with the exception of FarCry 3) are getting worse. Halo 4, AS3, CoD are getting worse every year.

Are games getting worse? Or are we expecting to much and hype is getting to us?

Inappropriate. Went a little to far with the butt hole tearing.

Has anyone really been far even as decided to use even go want to do look more like?

Not worse, but the same. Every year we expect something new, but the "new stuff" is just repackaged old stuff.

This. Gaming is what's "in" now. Therefore, the industry is catering towards a larger audience.

I'd say give it a few years. Sooner or later, the CoD bandwagon will die out and developer will treat it as more of a niche hobby.

It's okay, Cobra. I've masturbated to you too.

You're thinking too much in the future.

Look at the difference, which would you say is the better game?

Games are infinitely better than they were earlier on. The amount of technology that goes into one game now was unheard of back in the day.

Well of course CoD and Halo are getting worse and probably AS. Games get bland after a while, and as we see with halo and cod, they try to fuse themselves as one pile of mush. Doesn't really work out in the end though.

Per Audacia Ad Astra

Nope. Consumers are demanding frequent AAA games; in return the games are of the same quality, are an experiment for newly introduced aspects which could cause sequels to be worse, and less development time disallows significant improvements.

And some developers simply want the money.

Haha no. I think that viewpoint is laughably stupid. It's also losing a lot of the negative stigma that was attached to it which indicates it will likely only continue to grow in popularity.

To me, that it's becoming as accepted an art form as movies is a good thing.

Every time you say something is old your dick shrinks.

For me they are. I find mediocre games to be more fun then triple A titles.
Its not that there getting worse, there actually improving but I just don't have fun with all these new titles.

The exact opposite, actually.

More awesome than a shark high-fiving a bear during an explosion...IN SPACE.

Nope. There's plenty of good games nowadays.

FTFY. This is the problem here. Devs make their games easy and attempt to "shorten the skill gap" to attract more idiots.

They are getting better. But someone really needs to try something new.

By the power of truth, I, while living, have conquered the universe.

Nope. If anything is getting worse in the game industry, it's the gamers.

Halo 2 was the best Halo game
A7x FoREVer!

No, they are getting better. However, based off your examples its obvious you play game series that pump out new installments every year or 2. You play the game so much that any changes annoy you. In reality, games have become vastly superior but you just have your favorites.

Try playing different games...

1. Half-Life 2
2. Mass Effect 3
3. Mass Effect 2
4. Tie between Halo 3 and CoD4
5. Medal of Honor or Spec Ops: The Line

"You can be larger than life. But you can't be larger than death."

I'd say games are getting stagnant. Aside from the occasional gem, like Spec Ops The Line, Far Cry 3, The Walking Dead, Mass Effect, I Am Alive, most series either change too little or don't fix what's broken. Halo 4 and BO2 were pretty good but still didn't fix some of the problems that have ailed them.

Lurking these forums, rest assured that I'm silently judging you.

At least until Destiny.

Devs make their games easy and attempt to "shorten the skill gap" to attract more idiots.

The "skilled" players will just have to get better, then.
