Some nights, I call it a draw
Some nights, I wish that my lips could build a castle
Some nights, I wish they'd just fall off

But I still wake up, I still see your ghost
Oh Lord, I'm still not sure what I stand for oh
What do I stand for? What do I stand for?
Most nights, I don't know anymore...
Oh whoa, oh whoa, oh whoa oh oh
Oh whoa, oh whoa, oh whoa oh oh

This is it, boys, this is war - what are we waiting for?
Why don't we break the rules already?
I was never one to believe the hype - save that for the black and white
I try twice as hard and I'm half as liked, but here they come again to jack my style

And that's alright; I found a martyr in my bed tonight
She stops my bones from wondering just who I am, who I am, who I am
Oh, who am I? mmm... mmm...

Well, some nights, I wish that this all would end
Cause I could use some friends for a change
And some nights, I'm scared you'll forget me again
Some nights, I always win, I always win...

But I still wake up, I still see your ghost
Oh Lord, I'm still not sure what I stand for, oh
What do I stand for? What do I stand for?
Most nights, I don't know... (come on)

So this is it? I sold my soul for this?
Washed my hands of that for this?
I miss my mom and dad for this?

(Come on)

No. When I see stars, when I see, when I see stars, that's all they are
When I hear songs, they sound like this one, so come on
Oh, come on. Oh, come on, OH COME ON!

Well, that is it guys, that is all - five minutes in and I'm bored again
Ten years of this, I'm not sure if anybody understands
This one is not for the folks at home; Sorry to leave, mom, I had to go
Who the -blam!- wants to die alone all dried up in the desert sun?

My heart is breaking for my sister and the con that she call "love"
When I look into my nephew's eyes...
Man, you wouldn't believe the most amazing things that can come from...
Some terrible lies...ahhh...

Oh whoa, oh whoa, oh whoa, oh oh
Oh whoa, oh whoa, oh whoa, oh oh

The other night, you wouldn't believe the dream I just had about you and me
I called you up, but we'd both agree
It's for the best you didn't listen
It's for the best we get our distance... oh...
It's for the best you didn't listen
It's for the best we get our distance... oh...

I think this song is better than We Are Young. What do you think of this song?

They call me graland.

Wreck-It-Raplph is the only reason anyone has heard of this song.

If you're a zombie and you know it, bite your friends.

The Flood Theory of Deterioration: q(p)=(qi)e^(-p/r)

Where q(p) is the quality of the thread as a function of p posts, (qi) is the inital quality of the first post, p is the amount of posts and r is the e-peen of the original poster.

I actually heard Peter Hollens cover of it before that movie came out.

Hell I heard his cover before I heard the original song.

It matters not how strait the gate,
How charged with punishments the scroll.
I am the master of my fate:
I am the captain of my soul.

I heard it before everyone else did.

Just remember that no matter how terrible you feel, or how much you want to let go, there are people who care about you and love you.

"The hero is the one who kindles a great light in the world, who sets up blazing torches in the dark streets of life for men to see by.
The saint is the man who walks through the dark paths of the world, himself a light."

It's actually been quite popular over here for a while, regardless of the movie.

No. It's popular to say fun. sucks and nobody knows any of their stuff because they had a hit single with "We Are Young," but they're actually immensely popular. I heard Some Nights long before Wreck It Ralph was even being advertised, and i'm hardly on top of the pop-rock music scene. Some Nights (the song and the album) are both very popular.

That said, the album is nowhere near album of the year and the grammys need to get their -blam!- together. El Camino and Babel both deserve it, haven't heard Jack White's new album, but there are plenty of more deserving albums than Some Nights or that Frank Ocean one.

OT: I agree it's better than We Are Young.

What is the point of posting the lyrics to the song?

I'd never heard of Fun before seeing the Wreck-It-Ralph trailer, and I'd never heard of "We Are Young" until reading this thread.

After the first trailer comes out, all the local rock stations start playing "Some Nights" despite never having played any Fun songs before.

Theyve played on multiple popular talk shows, and Some Nights was covered on Glee early in the year. The song was on the top of charts for a while.

Don't know about your radio stations, but all the pop stations up here have been playing it since early 2012.
