I've always thought someone has one, but has kept it secret because chemotherapy makes money, while for example a cure wouldn't. Sounds far fetched, or perhaps it's something extremely simple and we haven't figured it out yet. So for discussion purposes do you think someone has developed one yet?

Ask Will Smith. He knows... he knows.

I like shorts. They're comfy and easy to wear.

If someone invented a cure for cancer they could charge whatever they wanted for it and it would sell.

Gather around the campfire, once it goes out, it's out for good.

I'm not a cellular biologist, so hell if I know.

Pure Insanity
The point of war is not to die for one's clan, but it's to make the other bastard die for his
Right before you die, there is always a chance to save yourself, sieze that chance and live to fight another day
The best way to kill someone is to fight them with the same weapons they use and make them know you are better than them, not because of superior weaponry, but because of superior skill.

My problems [with Reach] are basically just full parties, mlg, and people who go out of their way not to get killed.

That theory doesn't hold much water considering that whomever discovered the cure could just charge a fortune for it. Remember, most companies that study illness and create medicine are private institutions and not government-funded ones.

So the cure will have a hefty price tag. One that will cost much more than chemo ever could.

I doubt it. Is it even possible for there to be a cure?

No that's the theory. Curing cancer isn't as money making as treating it. Therefore medical companies aren't searching for cures, just treatments.

Also there is the problem about curing a mutation. Cancer isn't a disease like the flu. It's a negative mutation of cellular material. In order to truely cure it, you have to find a way to stop an erratic mutation and reverse it, without causing worse damage to the body, like removing the ability for the immune system to adapt to combat new strains of viruses.

Not a blanket "cure-all-cancer" cure. Cancer is a term for multiple things. Just like "getting sick" can be from numerous things and not just one.

Now you want to know what you never hear of? Cancer Prevention. Doesn't need to be cured or treated if you prevent it from happening in the first place.

Gather around the campfire, once it goes out, it's out for good.

Problem with that theory is that when several companies discover the cure, sooner or later one will realize that they could dominate the medical market by not withholding from the public. And then the remaining companies would "suddenly discover" the process as well and soon the market would be competing towards making the cancer cure cheaper and more effective than the competitions.

That is, of course, assuming that corporations don't work together.

Do you even know what cancer is?

心の中に弱い風が吹いています。

Same for GE making a light bulb that would never need to be replaced. They're not going to put it out on the market, since it would mean they'd make less in the long run.
