Flood...Covenant...Ark...Halo...Cortana...Prophets...heck, even the Master Chief could be considered the Messiah (Messiah Chief?), at least an Arch Angel (who heres voices ala Joan of Arc). Ark of the Covenant? So the game is just one giant trip from Earth back to Earth again just in time for the end of the world? I refuse to accept that ("I don't believe in no-win situations" Captain Kirk) Imagine if they made movies of all three video games "including" a movie where "the world ends", how would people, moviegoers, react to that? How many movies have you ever seen where the good guys lose and the Earth is destroyed (a Hitchhiker's Guide to the Universe notwithstanding)? Perhaps Bungie should have rethought releasing a trailer where they say this is how the world ends. Maybe, hopefully, that is just a turn of phrase, a matter of speech, and Cortana (Gravemind?) shouldn't be taken literally. I, for one, hope so. Halo is, in my opinion, the best first-person-shooter that has ever been created, just like Star Wars is the best science-fiction movie that has ever been created. How would you like your favourite band to put out three great albums only to hear that after their third album the band was going to break up and turn their three albums into movies because those were concept albums? I wouldn't. Halo forever, long live the Master Chief.
