What are these first person words you speak of?

Unfortunately, I'm only 17 and still in High School.

Same boat, dude.

Same boat, dude.

Believe me, the second I get the chance to take off I'm taking it.

Not like I don't enjoy my family or something, but I want to have the freedom to do whatever.

Gather around the campfire, once it goes out, it's out for good.

If I were to move into an apartment, I'd be very excited.
If I were to move into a new home, I'd want to shoot myself.
Wow, that's pretty much the exact opposite of what I would do.

OT: Being off renting places for uni, I'm pretty used to living on my own. I'd love to have a sick house, but that's a bit down the road from where I am.
I've never enjoyed the idea of living in debt. I almost feel like I find the idea of poverty more comforting than it.

I won't be on my own for a while considering I don't have a job at the moment and I wouldn't be able to afford my own place without a room mate. That being said I can't wait to get my own place even if I was living with a room mate.

Sometimes I'll have the house to myself for a weekend and I just love it. I can do whatever I want. Have a girl over, get drunk, etc. It's a lot of fun by yourself even if it doesn't last long.

You know who I am.

My tip: find an apartment that isn't in a sketchy area. Seriosuly, a single block can be the difference between having your stuff stolen.

This thread got me thinking though, can you own your own apartment? Like not the complex, but the apartment you live in.

Considering that most people in poverty are also in unsustainable debt, I'd rather go for the good job and work out a fairly quick mortgage with a financial planner.

You're only in trouble with debt if you haven't planned ahead.

Also, I like equity. Your house pretty much becomes part of your retirement portfolio.

It is very dark, and you are likely to be eaten by a Grue.

I'll enjoy having the privacy of my own home, I can say that much.

I felt the same way until I stated spending 90% of what I make on rent.

Live within your means...

OT, yes it is nice. I am renting out my place in another state, and have a nice house here where I live now. The rent we get doesn't cover the mortgage though.... about a $600 gap every month. No biggie though.

If I am not posting, then I am reading what you might have posted.

Well, I don't completely own it, but me and my friends have fair rights on the place, and I am in no rush to get out... I will eventually leave go an leave on my own.

Leaving home is my greatest desire, I just have no money, I'll probably have to get roommates with current rent prices when I get a stable job.

I don't want to leave the comforts of home. I have to start doing things myself and have more responsibilities thrust upon me.

"Per audacia ad astra"
"In the feel clutch of circumstance I have winced
Nor cried aloud
under the bludgeonings of chance.
My head is bloody
but unbowed" ~ Sir William Earnest Henley

Im moving out when I turn 16, which coincidently is next year.

Just bought my first house a little over a year ago and I LOVE IT!!

Now is a great time to buy with prices low and interest rates are extremely low.

My advice is to stay within your means, talk with your lender and be very realistic with yourself on what you can afford to spend every month for a mortgage.

In my case I could buy a very incredible place but be living paycheck to paycheck when I factored in things like cable, gas, groceries, entertainment, and vacations.

So I went for a nice little 3 bedroom 2 bath in a family type neighborhood that left me room to afford the extras that I like and I'm loving it.

I rented for 12 years saving as much money as I could and waiting for a good time to buy. If you have the money I say get looking and buy now.

Life?
I have the internet and Doctor Who; i don't need a life.

well technically i don't own it since i'm renting it out, but having my own space to do things feels rather liberating.

Don't let fear of rejection stop you from going after what you want

Also, for those of you who already own a house, or live in an apartment, do you have any tips for others?
Stay with your parents. It's cheaper.

Moving next month.

There's a “U” and “I” in union but just an “I” in my beliefs

Pretty happy.

Every time I read something that I think is the stupidest thing ever and something can't replace it, something manages to replace it.

I'm a student.

I rent a flat with a mate.

Owning my own place would be awesome but requires a lot of £££.

One day. :)
