I know, right?
Jay acts like she's better than everyone else simply because she's a chick.
I hope she chokes to death.

Do you think you have a conscious bias against women who have had multiple partners, or women with more relaxed attitudes towards relationships? If so, why?

This question is related to a few things: firstly, the whole "fake geek girls" thing that's been causing a stir in comic book fandom recently (here's a Cracked breakdown of the drama, if you're interested), and secondly, an article I just read about a new study claiming that women who work in, ah, "adult entertainment" are actually psychologically healthier on average than other women, which seems to contradict a lot of previously held beliefs on the subject.

There seems to be a stigma surrounding girls who enjoy male attention or casual relationships, accompanied by the idea that women who enjoy such things must necessarily be damaged, unhealthy or in some way deficient. I'm curious to see how many people here might share those views, and what their reasoning is.

Women who want casual relationships?

You mean -blam!- buddies right?

So do all who live to see such times, but that is not for them to decide. All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given to us.

I guess you could put it that way.

My question is whether or not you have a different attitude towards women who prefer that kind of relationship, or have a more relaxed attitude towards intimacy and relationships in general.

I like how your sub box is full of science and political videos but your recommendations are full of anime girls kissing each other.

I wouldn't know. I'd need experience in that department before I gained any such opinion.

In a time long past, the armies of the dark came again to the lands of men. Their leaders became known as the fallen lords, and their terrible sorcery was without equal in the west.
In 30 years they reduced the civilized nations into carrion and ash. Until the free city of Madrigal alone defined them. An army gathered there, and a desperate battle was joined against the fallen
Heros were born in the fire and bloodshed of the wars which followed and their names and deeds will never be forgotten

People shouldn't have multiple partners, regardless of gender.

Congratulations. You're literate!

The number of partners a woman has had in the past doesn't usually affect my views of her, but I don't think I'd be attracted to someone who prefers casual hook-ups to serious relationships.

What i want to know is how someone could find the -blam!- stars i look at psychologically healthy. Are you just pullin that out your ass?

It sounds like youre saying people that have had multiple partners are basically the same as people in 'adult entertainment,' and then asking why we're so negative about them. . .

  • 12.08.2012 8:17 PM PDT

Unreal, isn't it?

If people like getting laid and don't want connections, go for it. I would probably be less likely to date someone like that just because I wouldn't feel secure in the relationship, but I wouldn't have anything against them.

If I cast away all of views in order to understand the modern world, I'd say that they just enjoy having sex. Just like a neckbeard enjoys fapping, but doesn't actually want a girlfriend. I suppose there is nothing wrong with that (once again, I'm not using my moral conduct) if they didn't want another relationship on the side.

But I myself just view them as whores. Nothing more. I want a relationship with another person, not a prostitute.

Well, I don't see anything inherently negative about adult film work. My main worries with it have always been a lack of industry standards protecting workers from physical harm and disease, but there's been a movement in the last few years towards improving that so that it's a safer industry to work in.

It's not really that I equate the two, more that one got me thinking about the other.

This. Learn to control yourselves. Must you really always have a male doll to tell you your beautiful and to kiss your ass all day.

I am a monument to all your sins

I don't personally have a problem with women that enjoy casual sex. I guess there is some societal indoctrination in me that causes me to unconsciously look down on it, but when I think rationally it's not an issue.

I really do think I have a bias towards women. I think they tend to be more likely sociably immature and reasonably less intelligent. I feel bad for thinking this but I struggle with it. I love my girl friend and would never tell her that. Same with my mother.

My problems [with Reach] are basically just full parties, mlg, and people who go out of their way not to get killed.

It's a societal thing to look down on women who have had multiple partners but I hope it is something that changes eventually. The s.exuality of women should seriously be reconsidered in the eyes of society. They have just as much freedom as men to choose what they do.

Having said that, I don't look down on women who have had multiple partners. Admittedly, I used to. But to be honest that thought stems from insecurity within a male who suffers from, to an extent, performance anxiety.

An article about equality is considered white-knighting now? :P

If you look at Luke McKinney's other writing, he's done a lot of stuff about gender politics before. I would guess that this is a cause he genuinely believes in.
