Subject: Looking for some new music.

I've had trouble recently, finding new (new to me, not recently made new) music that I like. It just seems like the genre of music I listen to has a limited number of artists I like. I mostly listen metal(thrash, speed, technical, progressive, and power metal, don't care for death, black, metalcore, or most experimental metal) so that's the kind of music I'm looking for but I'm also interested in maybe trying out some orchestra type music.

Artists I've tried and like: Megadeth, Metallica, Anthrax, Overkill, Death Angel, Testament, Iron Maiden, Ozzy Osbourne Black Sabbath, Annihilator, Elena Siegman Iced Earth(sorta), Hammerfal(sorta), and Slipknot(sorta).

Artists I've tried and don't like: Sepulchura(hope I spelled that right), Children of Bodom, Sodom, Avenged Sevenfold, Slayer(but only cause I'm not a fan of alot of their lyrics), Exodus, Nightwish, and Meshugga(hope I spelled that right).

Oh, and if anyone knows of any good metal songs that incorporate a piano well, please post a youtube link!(provided the song is on youtube of course) Thanks :)

Ok, thanks for the recommendations guys, I'll check em out. On a side note, I can't believe I never thought to check out Guns N Roses as popular as they are.

Do you only want hard-rockish music?
I can recommend quite a bit of music, but about none of it matches up with your current tastes.

Here's something Metal/Orchestral for you

Something else I know of

How the hell can you not love Slayer because of their themes, dammit.

You could always try opening your tastes to other genres. I listen to at least a little of just about everything.

Just posting what i'm listening to.

Anyway, one, two, three.

They are my favorite band. They have have VH1s number 1 hard rock song of all time, Welcome to the Jungle, and other really famous songs like Paradise City , and Nightrain . All great songs.

Plus, Axl Rose, the lead singer for GnR, is a bamf. He is one of the only white people to say the "N" word in a song.

Axl Rose is a douche, plain and simple. Also, Buckethead > Slash.

Try bands like Mastodon (The Wolf is Loose), Protest the Hero (Bury the Hatchet), and Between the Buried and Me (White Walls). Those are all different sorts of hard rock that you might be into.

Good luck dude. Sorry for not providing links, on my phone.

Axl is misunderstood. And in no way is Buckethead better than Slash.

The Dimmu Borgir song was great instrumentally but I didn't care much for the vocals, the Stone Sour song had good vocals but didn't keep me to interested instrumentally, the Cradle of Filth song though was a bit more of an in-between, cool instrumentally, vocally they had some parts I really liked, some parts I didn't care for, and some parts that were kinda interesting, so I may check them out a bit more. The Eiffel 65 song was pretty cool, not something I could see myself listening to on a daily basis, but kinda cool all the same. Thanks for the recommendations :)

Not a problem, feel free to ask if you'd like any more. And fun fact, the singer from Stone Sour is the same vocalist from Slipknot.

Here's something Metal/Orchestral for you

Something else I know of

The KAMELOT song was pretty cool, kinda reminded me of Hammerfall a bit. I'll have to check out the 24 minute Dream Theater song in bits and pieces XD. I'll have to check out the other stuff you listed.

@Todge. I listened to "Sweet Child of Mine" by GNR, and really liked it so I'll probably check out more of them.

@DeathCube, Protest the Hero was pretty cool, definitely something I'll check out more.

Thanks guys, for the recommendations so far, still looking through everything, if there's one thing the Flood is good at, it's sharing music.
