Subject: Does Far Cry 3 really have the most realistic character of all games?

Just the way Jason is, pretty much will be like everyone his situation. Not a single straight out warrior. Just a kid escaping.

11:00 is an example when you get your first kill.

Doubtful.

The Amnesia character is pretty *realistic*.

For those who wish to contact me on Xbox LIVE, my main account is "The 7th Taco", and the one linked with my profile here is only a backup.

Vaas is what makes that game amazing in terms of characters. I couldn't care less for Jason, for once, I actually loved the villian more than myself.

You forgot to mention the part where after that single moment, he becomes rambo and kills everything that he sees without hesitation.

Hardly 'realistic'.
Probably because he's becoming insane?

2013 ADFA Officer Cadet of the RAAF (Aerospace Engineer Electronics Officer).

Maybe at the start, but the rest of the game is a bit contradictory, in that Jason, the kid who has zero combat experience, and who is shocked by death and violence, is able to stab bowie knives through dozens of people's chests, pluck bullets out of his arm, and single handedly defeat scores of pirates and PMC soldiers who've been training since they were little.

You don't become insane over the course of a day.
I didn't know you were an expert on insanity, why didn't you say so!

I wouldn't say zero combat experience, in the Mushroom mission when you're tripping balls you hear Grant tell you that Jason was a natural with a gun.

If you're a zombie and you know it, bite your friends.

The Flood Theory of Deterioration: q(p)=(qi)e^(-p/r)

Where q(p) is the quality of the thread as a function of p posts, (qi) is the inital quality of the first post, p is the amount of posts and r is the e-peen of the original poster.

We'll see when that Tomb Raider game comes out next year.

Fair enough, I'm sure that with his upbringing and his brother's occupation, he would've gone to the range quite a few times.

Still (while I know you're not arguing), it doesn't make him capable of quite violently murdering people, nor does it explain how he goes from coward to insanely fearless in a day.

I know some would point fingers at the death of his brother, but it typically doesn't work like that, and even then, those kind of psychological phases wouldn't become permanent like they do in the game.

Then again, I guess there is quite a bit of drug use in the game...

Having to wait to become an insane badass would become boring to play imo, so that's probably why the transition is so fast.

well there is that....but then, there's all those drugs...it can't be healthy for a man who just lost his brother and just stabbed someone for the first time to be inhaling all of those lovely substances. Just a thought, but I do agree that is was probably sped up for the sake of gameplay.

The healing animation could've used some sound to go along.
But Jason knows from Dennis that he needs to learn and learn fast to kill to save his friends. Only the anger from Vaas and the wierdo Citra made Jason do what he did and made him a warrior of the jungle.

At least he gets grossed out by skinning animals lol.

He's a tough kid with a crappy voice.

You clearly are clueless of the potential effects of drugs on the mind.

Oh, you think darkness is your ally. You merely adopted the dark. I was born in it, molded by it. I didn’t see the light until I was already a man. By then, it was nothing to me but BLINDING!

Amazing game.
Though, Jason did become an unstoppable killer rather quickly.

Oh yeah, a random guy who became Rambo over night. Yes, very realistic.

Even though he doesn't want to kill at first, he knows that it's the only way to save his friends. And the more time he spends on the island killing the more insane he becomes. Not to mention all those drugs he was tripping on.

TRU7H. CARNAGE. BUNGIE

yeah.. and he has perfect aim with any weapon he happens to pick up.. right...

  • 12.09.2012 11:48 AM PDT

The fact that within a day of picking up a gun he can fire an LMG with literally no recoil. His personality is pretty good though.
