No, you would get sniped all the time. The only way the tank would be good is if you had all the snipers. Sorry but no

Your link is screwed up somehow, the explorer bar says it links to photobucket, but it goes to w3.com. But yes I agree, I prefered in Halo when you could snipe the tank operator out through the cage door on the scorpion.

No. The only reason a tank would ever be built with an opening like that is for the sole purpose of making it easier to kill. No real tank has such a blatant opening.

(10:19:49 PM) Scruss: oh and pezza, i saw what you did to that cat
(10:20:17 PM) Pezza: You were the one with the video camera breathing heavily. Of course you saw.

I like it the way it is now, that if you can knock the hatch off the tank then you can snipe him out.

you can snipe people out of tanks in H2, the driver cover has to be off first though

*agrees with above*

The tank sniping spot was a bad idea in the first game. It made using the tank less effective and less realistic. If you bring back the tanking sniping feature, you might as well bring back the almighty anti tank pistol, which could take out the tank by firing 1 of its clips at any spot on the tank. If you ask me, the tank in Halo 2 is just strong enough, being able to withstand small arms fire, but not being able to withstand more than 1 rocket hit.

Also, if you remember, with a little imagination on the part of the tank driver, the effectiveness of the sniper against the tank can be reduced in Halo 1. In order to do this, the driver must merely drive the tank into the engagement backwards, therefore not giving the sniper a clear shot of the hatch.

Conclusion: Do not bring back the tank sniper spot.

i think the reason they changed it in halo 2 was in order to make it similar, or at least closer, in strength to the wraith which also became an operational vehicle in halo 2.

The controls didn't let you drive tanks backwards in Halo 1 i believe.

Yes they did. There was a weird thing you had to do to get the tank permanently turned around, but it could be done.

Well, a tank sniping spot is obsurd. Plus you can just get a freind to knock of the hatch(even if it means dying) by boreding. The driver should get out and may kill him, but if the driver hops back in, he's prone to sniper shots. a Pre existing open spot is dumb. No tank is built that way. I want to use strategy to destroy my foes, not just run up to it with a super pistol.

The only complaint I have about the Tank is it should be destroyable through Brute Shot grenades.
