Don't judge a book by its cover, unless it has bacon on the cover, then it is a good book.

-Me

Alright so I finally got around to purchasing this DLC. I was beyond excited because Dawnguard and Hearthfire were so amazing. Having not played Morrowind I was not as nostalgia happy as some people were.

Solstheim: Solstheim is interesting from the beginning, this DLC being much larger than Dawnguard I was excited to explore this place. However I was not expecting just how large Solstheim was. While it is smaller than Skyrim, it offers a variety of regions most of which are covered in ash. The creatures native to Solstheim are equally as interesting, the spiders, Lurkers, and those giant floating things.

What did disappoint me however was the large amounts of Nordic ruins and draugr. I know the empire controlled Solstheim for a while, yet there are no Imperial buildings only nordic and some structures native to it.

Main Quest: Where to begin? Dragonborn's main quest definitely felt rushed and much shorter than Dawnguard. In Dawnguard the developers took time to get us emotionally invested in Serana and what was happening in her life. In Dragonborn, players are quickly thrust at you with very little time to develop any sort of emotion for them.

Miraak and friends: the big bad guy had so much potential. Aside from a few moments where he steals a dragon soul from you or a transition scene you don't really know why you are fighting him. Remember that guy who gave you the Oghma Infinium? Yeah well he is back and I must say they did an amazing job with his plain of Oblivion and Hermaeus Mora. Hermaeus Mora was given a new form and towards the end of the story he stopped talking in that slow voice, but instead became angry and revealed his true power.

Overall the story was very good, it just felt rushed.

Weapons and armor: The new weapons and armor in Dragonborn are very well done but hard to obtain, if you are short on money I would suggest getting some. Most are heavy, but there is one particular armor called Stalhrim armor that is as strong as dragon. Stalhrim amor comes in light and heavy variations.

Resetting Perks: At the end of the story you can choose to reset any perk you like for the cost of one Dragon Soul. You can visit this place as many times as you like

Music: the new music for Dragonborn was amazing, but it did feel out of place on some occasions

Personal grievances: At the end of Dawnguard the boss had light armor and at the end of Dragonborn Miraak also had light armor. This is somewhat annoying to someone who likes to use heavy armor.

Dragonborn rating: 8.5/10- I highly recommend this DLC. The side quest are amazing
