Is there any way Bungie's new game could be both an MMO and a traditional multi-player- like Halo? I was thinking maybe there are two different multiplayer modes, one is an MMO, where you can join various factions (Ex Covenant, UNSC, Flood, if this was Halo) and go on a variety of missions and quests lined up and you rank up. Or you could play a traditional 4v4 slayer on insert map here like Halo, and your rank from the MMO would carry over . Thoughts?

I really hate MMOs, so I hope not.

Haters are going to hate.
Praisers are going to praise.

The Bungie Forums are what keeps my mind sharp and my fingers active, between writing my own movie scripts, drawing, and studying industrial design. At the moment I'm working on miniatures for a short movie that I'll hopefully be able to film once I've saved up for a camera... That's me, with the mug, trying to have a conversation with Konoko.

The concept of it, or how it's usually done?

Maybe both. The traits I dislike the most

-Repetitive gameplay
-Expensive
-Virtually no offline play
-Story that goes nowhere
-Poor gameplay balance

Basically all the stuff that Bungie avoided doing with Halo.

I'd be fine with it the one thing I do dislike about MMO's though is the broing battles and Grinding in a game without Player levels and a fun and engaging battle system I could see myself playing it.

None of those are inherent traits of MMOs.

-Repetetive gameplay is a problem with pretty much all game types.
-Guid wars 2? Planetside 2? Etc. Box Price + No Fee; F2P + micro Transactions. No more expensive than any other game.
-Offline play is going by the wayside, I'm afraid. there are quite a few games where you cannot play without being connected to the internet. That's just something you're going to have to get past.
-MMOs can have good stories, they're just generally not 5-6 hours of straight story. It's generally more broken up.
-Planetside 2 is an MMO with good gameplay balance. But then "good" balance really is completely, 100% subjective. (Some say a game is balanced if everyone has access to the one super-powerful weapon and that's all they use. I disagree, of course)
