Did Treyarch remove any of the gore in the latest update of the game? The reason I'm asking is because I just started playing it about a year after from when I stopped, and it seems a little dumbed down. It was one of the many features that I loved about World at War.

It's been so long since I played that. I'm not sure though, the last time I played I do remember having someones brain splatter on the ground when I hit him with the Sniper, but that was over a year ago.

I change shapes just to hide in this place but im still im still an animal...

Its pathetic how gore is vanishing from games. There is always a constant drive to make games more realistic, yet you can eat a giant as rocket and have a fully intact corpse. Minus GOW i think that last shooter with it was this, i think Killzone has headshots.

Its just a glaringly obvious way of making it suitable for the kiddy audiences.

I like how Halo 4 is rated M for Mature due to Blood, but I have yet to actually see any Blood in that game.

Breaking barriers.

I've seen it all the time, when someone takes damage with no shields.

OT: I think it's to appeal to a wider audience, maybe. Not everyone wants to see so much gore in every violent game they play.

This. Most games, aside from the few like Elite Sniper/V2 with bullet-cam, are dumbing down the gore and intensifying eveything else, colors included.

Gore is one of the best parts of some games, it makes you feels.

They just go missing in action.

So CoD 5 got an update? Why, it's so old and hacked to hell. Also MW2 got an update this week. For no apparent reason.

Call me Rdog, not RdOG or RdOG1507. I made that username when I thought it was cool to use alternating capital and lowercase letters...

Well, it's not only the kids, but everyone else too. Video games have a bad reputation among the general public as it is... Making everything super bloody and graphic would just make people think we're freaks. A lot of normal adults don't want to see that.

So it's okay for a guy in Black Ops II to have a hole in his head from getting shot by a sniper or a spas being shoved into his knees and blowing them apart. But if his head explodes or they come all the way off its completely unacceptable? Ok.. sureeeeee.

Not to mention zombies is the most violent thing around.

Doesn't seem that way. I've played well over 10 hours of multiplayer this week. (Hint: There are actually established games with out hackers on the PC version).

Alien blood perhaps?

OT: Personally I feel that there should be an 'On/Off' switch for gore in video games.

You should pick it up during the Steam winter sale. I remember seeing it go down to $5 last year. Also, a little word of advice: 95% of the servers are all Hard Core or crouch only/stand when sighted. It is fun for a while, but sometimes I miss the fast-paced aspect that was intended for the game.

As far as I know, nope it's still there. I was playing it a bit ago and saw someone hit by a grenade that turned him into stumpy with lots of blood.

I think there is a toggle gore option in the menus. Did you hit that?

I am thinking of an old story. "Three Billy Goats Gruff" (hint the troll dies at the end)

I'd say it's a solid 3 in my book, first would be CoD 3, then 4, then WaW. Still a really under rated game though but the MP 40 was a bit broken
