Subject: 'Video Games cause Violence'

Recon Number 54 -
If they are still looking, then while holding the snarl, I let drool start to drip from my mouth, I stand, curl my fingers into claws and with a hunched over crouch, I then make slow and deliberate steps towards them. When I get close enough, I let them hear my agonized and gasping growls and then, if they continue to stare, when I get within arm's reach? I kiss them on the nose, and run away giggling.

What is your reaction to this incredibly true and well thought out statement?

Shakes Magic 8 Ball

Violence brings out the violent.

You look around. You fire your weapon before you realize.
Its just me. I fall and you walk up. You cry why.
When i pop up. You look at me in wonder. I say,"ASSUMING DIRECT CONTROL."
You bend to my will and go to a cliff, walk off, and fall.
The last thing you hear is me stating as fact,"All will fail the battle of life, you just went early"

That statement is false, stupid and just plain arrogant.

Violent video games cause violence in video games.

Still a lack of proof for it IRL.

  • 12.09.2012 1:11 PM PDT

All forms of media have violence, so it wouldn't just be limited to video games if such a statement were true.

Culexus wasn't my first choice ;p

It was going to be Vindicare but I messed up linking XBL GTs

  • 12.09.2012 1:11 PM PDT

Ha! Jokes on you Media! I wanted to kill people even before I started to play video games!

  • 12.09.2012 1:11 PM PDT

If it wasn't video games it would be something else.

  • 12.09.2012 1:12 PM PDT

Formerly darkbrute (no I was not perma-banned.)

Members here dont get banned.

They just go missing in action.

This statement makes me want to get violent.

  • 12.09.2012 1:12 PM PDT

What are these first person words you speak of?

Well of course!

You and your cousin had to fight over the good controller at one point. Had video games never been invented, you would have continued enjoying the holidays.

But nooooooo.

Eversors are always fun, too.

Currently studying Computer Science & Software engineering. Hope to work on mobile devices of the future! When a certain game's credits roll, look out for my name! ;)

You will -blam!- bricks when you see what game it is! =)

No point in putting something funny, clever or informative here. Most probably im going to get perma-banned anyway.

Well, since playing GTA I have committed well over 1000 crimes. All the way from robbing banks, to hijacking military jets, to running over hookers. And when I get home the police stops chasing me. There must be some truth to that claim.

Remember those times when we all had something better to be doing, but didn't do it? Those were good times. Gooood times

Numba one Italian on da flud.

I actually would go around killing people if I couldn't in videogames.

lol, how about this?

OT: I need proofs.

(V)!_!(V) crab

Causes? I dont think so but I am sure it induces frustration and anger at times. On the extreme end I wouldnt be surprised if some games were indeed the influence needed for some henious acts by the troubled.

  • 12.09.2012 1:16 PM PDT

Studies have shown that violent video games only cause violence in people already prone to violent behavior. Same goes for TV.

  • 12.09.2012 1:16 PM PDT

If we disagree, it's nothing personal, opinions are opinions.
Antagonizing me to build a false sense of worth is so damn cute.

Brighten your day with science.

People were plenty violent before video games were around.

Online Gaming's pretty much like a zombie movie. There are a lot of mindless idiots roaming around but you find some survivors on the way.

On young and impressionable children, yes it sometimes does.

But that's usually due to bad parenting really.

No it's not. If I were playing violent video games all of my life since I was eight, then it's quite possible I'd want to do that stuff in real life. It's been proven before.

Pure Insanity
The point of war is not to die for one's clan, but it's to make the other bastard die for his
Right before you die, there is always a chance to save yourself, sieze that chance and live to fight another day
The best way to kill someone is to fight them with the same weapons they use and make them know you are better than them, not because of superior weaponry, but because of superior skill.
Hidden in the shadows, Clothed in camo, Armed to the teeth. Hunting.

To be honest, they can. But it would be in only a few cases, ones in which the people would probably still be violent without video games. And it's not like they cause violence in every single person who plays them.

  • 12.09.2012 1:19 PM PDT

Remember Elk

WRONG! Videogames brings out the competitive nature in humans, what it is then directed towards depends on the person in question.

:/ Same, I actually managed to mess up Vindicare, Eversor, Callidus and was left with Culexus or one of the less well known clades.
