Subject: Theroy about why the Covenant ships in the trailer don't attack...

It's so bleak and dark, just like the empty shell of a person I have become...

Oh wait, I'm not Gzalzi, but I like it all the same. Black = Easy on the eyes = My retina thanks you.

Could a possible reason for this be that the Covie forces we see in the trailer are frendlies (a.k.a. elites turned frendlie after the events of halo 2), that would explain why the ships didn't kill MC.

I would like to hear peoples opinions on this, Thanks.

i heard that the covie forces in the trailer are part of an excavation force that is working on uncovering whatever the ginormous thing was.

maybe something else happened where the covenant thought that the MC died and had no reason to believe that he would be so close to them.

i already posted a theory about this but i was shut down. alot of people said the forruner facility was way more important then going after the MC.

if you were about to uncover an awsome forunner thing. would you pay attention to a little guy on some cliff?

no one said that the excavation force was hostile though.

It could be that they dont care if hes there he could be the only human on earth right now and they dont consider thw mc to be a threat when they have all them ships, the covenant are probably just focusing on activating the arc

Well seeing that the Ark was about a few miles from where the MC was standing, and that the Covenant are in gigantic ships high up in the air...they couldn't see him. The End.

I don't think it's the Ark.

It's most likely hostile. It implies it through the excavation fleet. Truth is one step ahead while the Elites are still recovering from the surprise change of events.

It's just a trailer. Dramatic effect? The Great Journey begins...

...Or maybe because they don't give a rat's ass about one infantry unit that poses 0 immediate threat to the ships? Or, they don't want to risk damaging tha ark? Or, the ship nearest him is so close to the ground that it would risk damaging itself if it fired at him? Or, they are far to captivated by what is the Holy Grail of the Covenant religion?

Seriously, you could really use Occam's Razor.

i think his idea is plausable because the covies know what the MCs capable of and they wouldnt risk losing the ark. just a thought.

He might be a threat to a Banshee..that is, if he has a Rocket Launcher..which he doesn't. Like MC can stop them now...

You guys do realize it is a TEASER trailer right?, the one for halo 2 with the cheif randomly jumping out of a ship had nothing to do with the game, they just made it so people would want to get the game even more...

Well in the Weekly Update, Frankie said he was fighting "Grunts, and something bigger than grunts" I realize that there are a lot of viable reasons you could be fighting grunts, but at the same time one of them is....Cheif isn't on good terms with the Covenant...Both sides.

"Thoughts are the shadows of feelings; always darker, emptier, and simpler."

They didn't see him.

OR

They thought that if they got close MC would hijack a banshee

Do you think the Covenant would be paying attention to a little figure standing on a cliff when they have that huge structure opening up right before them. They're not Elites BTW, they no longer belive in the Great Journey.

Or maybe they're not attacking him because it's a TRAILER and Bungie didn't want him to get attacked.

I honestly just thought it was because he really posed no threat at that moment. All the covies cared about right then was focusing on their holy relic they had just uncovered, chances are even if theyt realized it was the MC (they probably (if at all) looked down and thought they maybe saw just some lone human with no way of threatening their massive cruisers or their protected relic.

Really it's like asking why didn't the bomber drop some bombs on that wagon they saw on the ground. Sure it could have been being used to carry enemy supplies or such but really it's no threat to them right now, besides why waste an entire cannon of plasma on a target which they think will be killed by their holy weapon anyways once it is activated.
