Dude, I have a theroy, maybe the ships didnt attack him because they didnt care, and the fact a huge machine like thing was coming out of the ground in front of him, yea, I think i would be distracted from the ground if this happened.

Okay... here's a theory... they're too caught up with the Ark and the 'Great Journey' that they don't want to pay attention to one small person that couldn't take down all of them before it is activated... doubt he would have mattered much... they may not even have seen him...

It's so bleak and dark, just like the empty shell of a person I have become...

Oh wait, I'm not Gzalzi, but I like it all the same. Black = Easy on the eyes = My retina thanks you.

You guys do realize it is a TEASER trailer right?, the one for halo 2 with the cheif randomly jumping out of a ship had nothing to do with the game, they just made it so people would want to get the game even more...

Actualy he jumped to "give" the covenant back the bomb.

I think it's because the Covenant would not fire at anyone or anything if it meant risking damage of the forerunner structure.

In First Strike, when Dr. Halsey is holding the Forerunner crystal, and there are thousands of Covenant surrounding them, a group of Hunters opened fire on her, the Spartans, Sgt. Johnson, etc. And what happened next? The rest of the Covenant forces ALL opened fire and completely vaporized the Hunters and the soldiers unfortunate to have been standing too close.

The Covenant don't fire at or near important Forerunner artifacts. Just my theory.

They didn't attack because:

1. They figured he was no threat to them at the time

OR

2. They didn't realize he was even there

They probably just didn't detect him, or they simply didn't care. They have just discovered the Ark of the Covenant, which is what they beleive to be the key to their victory, so why would they care?

The Bring Back Bloodgulch Group have many members looking for more its kind of an unofficial petition to Bungie to bring back Bloodgulch in Reach http://www.bungie.net/fanclub/bx3g/Group/GroupHome.aspx

i already posted a theory about this but i was shut down. alot of people said the forruner facility was way more important then going after the MC.

if you were about to uncover an awsome forunner thing. would you pay attention to a little guy on some cliff?

well consindsering he's kicked there ass how many times before i think its something to worry about

Or the main reason they don't attack is the same reason that there was no bomb-riding sequence in the Halo 2 announcement trailer.

It's an announcement trailer, not the game itself.

My theory: Bungie wouldn't make much money if halo 3 was only a few seconds long. Simple and correct.

cheif returns to a COVENANT CONTROLLED EARTH

if those were chiefs "allies", then the Content Monkey wouldnt have made that statement

Ok, what are the chances of those massive ships seeing him? Hmm? VERY slim. They probably didn't even notice him, or identified him as a harmless threat. Stop blowing up small things that mean nothing.

i totally agree it is a trailer and they could be leaving out a bunch of stuff since in fact it is a "teaser" trailer.

or maybe ur just dumb and maybe they didnt even see MC cause he is son little and becuase of his armor duh..

Could a possible reason for this be that the Covie forces we see in the trailer are frendlies (a.k.a. elites turned frendlie after the events of halo 2), that would explain why the ships didn't kill MC.

I would like to hear peoples opinions on this, Thanks.

...Or maybe because they don't give a rat's ass about one infantry unit that poses 0 immediate threat to the ships? Or, they don't want to risk damaging tha ark? Or, the ship nearest him is so close to the ground that it would risk damaging itself if it fired at him? Or, they are far to captivated by what is the Holy Grail of the Covenant religion?

Seriously, you could really use Occam's Razor.

uhm...imediate threat? he could pump the ships full'a lead! =P
