So I'm pretty much going to be failing 2/5 Uni courses this semester. 5 pretty overall difficult courses that exceed my capabilities, and I live 1+ hours away by commute and finished most of lectures by 5. Am I academically incapable or just -blam!- up my schedule so hard it ruined my grades.

Gutted, just try again.

How do you even fail at uni? Every single thing you need to know is literally told to you weeks in advance. Hell, assignments are given weeks in advance (here anyway)

Time contraints...

Or you're lazy.

I will admit, I've only done a year at uni and things apparently get hectic towards the end of your degree... but I still had so, so, so much free time all year to do whatever I wanted.

Meh, that's a possibility but I feel like it really came down to the difficulty of the courses. I took the hardest 100 ECON course, in addition to 4 other rather abstract English courses (HIST, PHIL, International Studies, POL SCI)... and yeah, I would ramble on but it would seem like an excuse more than anything.

Go back to being a failure kid.

First sememster of Uni isn't too important so long as you do decently for the rest of your course.

You should probably talk to one of your professors or to student support if you're really worried.

Yeah I'm still having trouble developing good academic habits in my second year. It's all about actually taking school seriously and putting it above other things. Studying, going to class, doing homework are all very important habits to form.

I doubt that you're academically challenged. I'm also doing my first semester, but I've been told the first semester can be challenging for some people because it's the first time they experience freedom.

Also apparently some colleges let you retake courses. While the initial grade still shows up on your transcript, your new grade is the one that is included in your GPA. Perhaps you should see if your college has this option.

Anyway, back to cramming for my finals *gulp* :/

Edit: -blam!- edited my comment 3x because my mine has gone to -blam!- from all the studying.

Projects a week early and Show up for class and I never had to study minus psych and criminology. Guess it depend on how you learn though.

And eventually the cycle will repeat itself towards the end where you stop studying and going to lectures.

Yeah don't overdue it the first semester. Take four, even three courses first semester. I go to school all year round to avoid cramming courses into one semester.

I loved taking "May-Mesters" and summer classes. I could get away with only taking 12 or 13 hours in the fall and spring semesters.
I had time for all my classes, homework, projects, etc. and I was also able to keep a part time job.

No one is incapable. Spend your time more wisely. If you are still at Uni studying right now, you shouldn't be on Bungie trying to create excuses for failing.

Hit the books! Even if you are going to fail and make your life easier when you come back!

Don't worry about it man, my first semester I failed all my classes. Pretty much because of partying.

Just go back next semester and try hard as hell.
