Garshne, you'll actually be glad once you have an income. You'll be able to have some of that independence you crave, while also keeping your dad happy.But like I said, I want to do it on my terms, and not my father's or Centrelink's.
Sounds like it's a little too late for that. If you'd taken the initiative and grabbed a job as soon as you got out of school, that would have been on 'your terms.' Now that you've already started getting nagged, it will never feel quite as satisfying as it might have. I was in the same boat with my father out of high school.
Swallow your pride, mate. It really is the most rational way forward. Get a job, write a thousand words a day, and someday you'll be able to look back and laugh at the whole thing.
