Funny thing, I saw a copy of "Mein Kampf" in the bookstore the other day. I was tempted to pick it up and give it a read.

I have only read a little of it, but it is very interesting.
How far into the book would you say you got?

I don't exactly remember, it was a few years back when I read it. I may have to pick it up again now that you reminded me of it.

I remember you could see his viewpoints from his angle, it was kind of scary truthfully.

Does it get more interesting later on? The first chapter was really boring.

"Life is constantly fleeting from your grasp even from the very day it's bestowed upon you, but the shadow of death is always there, waiting for its chance to take you away."

"Even though many may not think so, ignorance and innocence are one and the same. The only difference is that one sounds nicer."

"I once knew a man who spent his entire life contemplating where we go after our death....it's a shame he realized it a second too late to tell anyone."

It would give you a bit of a better insight on his views, I could guess that. I agree with the majority that he was a very sick man, but even his story has two sides, even if his beliefs don't "justify" his actions.

And good is a point of view.
It's easy to say that until you're getting stepped on.
Sure, but good/bad can never be applied objectively, unless you have universal evidence to back it up, not just taking in the majority's perceptive and making up an absolute.
Yes, it is a fine thing to chop logic. Really it is. But it all comes back to the fact that to claim that there are no absolutes is an absolute in itself. So we're left with what works in practice, in terms of morality, which is usually supported by the majority. That's as objective as it needs to be. We see the apple and agree it is red.

You may not, but I thought it did.(Though history is one of my favorite things to read on in my free time)

This makes sense, considering that Britain occupied India and Hitler fought Britain.

Hmm. I might give it another go, I had to try and get through the first chapter when normally I whiz through books.

If we disagree, it's nothing personal, opinions are opinions.
Antagonizing me to build a false sense of worth is so damn cute.

Brighten your day with science.

Individual morality must certainly be subjective. When individual moralities coalesce, a society may consider the collective thought to be an objective morality. I see this as the basis for our laws, and it would also explain why the laws differ in other parts of the world.

As for an apple being red, that isn't determining good or evil.

They do know that Hitler and the "people with political differences" considered ethnic groups like Indians to be no better than lice, right?

Studies show that men think about sex every 7 seconds. I do my best to eat hotdogs in under 6, just so things don't get weird.

Please allow me to introduce Myself
I'm a man of wealth and taste
I've been around for a long, long year
Stole many a man's soul and faith

I'll bet they "know" it intellectually. But they don't understand it.

What's surprising to me is that they are still pissed enough at the British to think in the manner of "the enemy of my enemy is my friend."

Although a lot of those laws in non-western countries, and also a fair few in western countries are based less on a scientific approach to governance, and more on arbitrary religious rules.

The apple was just an example of continuity, outside of perspective, according to science. People aren't that different from one another at the core, so I think pain is pretty quantifiable.
