Break down, every single one of you.

Yeah, so I have this issue about once a semester. I randomly go through a 2-3 week period where I will go to bed, lay there for hours (exhasted) and not fall asleep. Then when I do finally manage to fall from consciousness, I constantly wake up throughout the night. I haven't counted, but my guess is that I awake ten times on average a night. While this does suck, I normally just deal with it. However, it usually happens much earlier in the semester and not around finals. To do well on these last exams, I need equal parts study and sleep. This is where I ask you, Flood, on bended knee if you have any suggestions on how I can manage to sleep this week.

Also, I know the OP can't inb4, but please don't post fap. You're not helping.

TL:DR
I've barely slept for three weeks. Suggestions on how to get some sleep for finals would be appreciated.

Tylenol PM, a warm bath, glass of milk, and relaxing music.

That typically puts me right to sleep.

Stress can also inhibit sleep, so before bed, spend a little bit of time trying to just relax your mind and body. Don't let yourself lay there in bed worrying about tests, quizzes, problems, etc that will be dealt with tomorrow.

Yup.

Walk around, relax, drink some milk and go back to bed.

Melatonin is great for sleeping, I suggest 5-10mg doses.

Melatonin?

Also, don't turn on the lights or look at your laptop or anything. Artificial light screws with your sleep schedule.

There are these guys, I think they're called doctors. But they're pretty good at telling you how to deal with stuff like that.

Blind luck always prevails.

Read a book before you go to bed. I sometimes watch Red vs Blue on my laptop if I can't find a decent book, basically anything to stop you thinking too much when you go to bed.

Also, drinking lots of water is never a bad thing.

By the way, is your room too hot/cold? That is usually to blame if I wake in the night.

I usually watch one or two episodes of cartoons on my laptop before I go to bed. Hasn't seemed to do much. I know reading is supposed to help, but it hasn't in the past either. As for my room's temperature, I live in a college dorm where the entire building's temperature is regulated. I don't think we can change the thermometer, either. My roommate tried once, but the buttons didn't do anything.

See good old Mr.Doctor if you can.

Try using things like sleeping pills for when you go to bed. If those don't work, you can try to use energy drinks.
